The hotel is lovely with beautiful gardens and a beautiful beach. The construction is not completely soundproof though so hope for quiet neighbours and some conveniences like plugs by the bed are lacking. Nice food and a good atmosphere overall.

Good location but the hotel is looking tired. Also caters to large outside groups so not ideal if youre looking for some quiet R&R

They gave me a free upgrade which was very nice and appreciated. It has some very unique looking accommodations however the Superior room suite I had was looking a little tired. In particular the bathroom and the windows and the tile stairs and entrance. I appreciated the turn down service and mosquito net. There were plenty of beach chairs with cushions which was nice also. A varied breakfast was available however the egg station only prepared fried eggs and omelette nothing to order. Coffee was horrible. It is located on a large, long beautiful beach great for swimming.

Rooms nice but food/drinks expensive (4 times the prices in the independent restaurants just across the road from the entrance).

The resort was amazing but the surrounding are there wasn't much to do ideal place for people who just wasn't to relax. Wifi was non existent in the room so if your planning on going buy a maynmar chip with plenty of internet on it

We had a wonderful time at the Amata. The staff made us feel welcome and relaxed as soon as we arrived. Our room wasn't the best so I mentioned it to the receptionist and almost immediately we were moved. The grounds are beautiful and the location is excellent. We didn't actually eat at the restaurant as there are so many great seafood places close by. Would highly recommend to others

Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Dinner selection was fair. The bed was like sleeping on a brick. The resort was nicely decorated for Christmas. But I feel the hotel is overpriced.

Lovely architecture, good breakfast, pallid western influenced tasteless menu, murky swim pool, stained bath towels...but the gorgeous white sand beach with clear water is right outside the hotel as well as there are restaurants on either side so you needn't be stuck here. Service was ok though upon entrance we were served canned OJ and the server insisted it was fresh juice ;-)

A good place to go to relax after a lot of travelling. You are met at the airport and taken by a free shuttle bus to the hotel in 15 minutes. the staff are friendly and helpful but communication is a problem . The hotel is located on the beach with an inground pool as well. Also available is a spa, sauna, and massage. The rooms are clean and well serviced with standard amenities but there is a distinct lack of power points. Tours to outer islands, Thandwe, fishing villages, boat trips and snorkelling can be arranged through the hotel. There are the usual roadside shops and cycling along the streets to the villages is easy. Otherwise you can walk along the beach and meet the fishermen as they come in with their catch. Breakfast is cooked to order and the restaurant provides good reasonable meals. An enjoyable experience

Hotel is beautiful and we loved the design and attention to detail, the buildings and garden are charming. Staff is very helpful and always smiles, assisted me when I needed medical attention, due to a little accident during snorkelling. Breakfast is tasty and the setting is fantastic, front tables overlook the sea. We stayed in the building at the back of the complex on the second floor, great view of the garden, the room was bright enough and very spacious! We loved the fresh flowers on our bed every morning. Near the hotel there is no beach restaurants so it's a little bit of a walk, however planty of places across the street from the hotel by the main road to eat. We enjoyed the happy hour drinks at the hotel. The transfers to and from the hotel were well organised and we felt we were looked after really well. I would definitely come back.

The Amata Resort is located on what is probably the most idyllic stretch of beach I have ever seen. The resort itself is beautifully decorated and the staff were extremely helpful. When asked if we could purchase one of the marionettes hanging in the library, they were very accommodating. The food was consistently good and the resort is also conveniently located across from Two Brothers Restaurant which has amazingly fresh seafood. Overall, I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who would enjoy a few days of complete relaxation in a tropical paradise.

We booked a superior room which is worth the upgrade as you are much closer to the beach. The beach is wonderful with white powder sand and protected by a reef that circles the entire beach area. The food is average but expensive for the area. Breakfast was included with the room as was wireless. The Buffet was very good with varied selection. The staff are always ready to assist but vary on ability to speak or understand english. Front desk always seems to have person with good english ability. Overall excellent selection and location with free Airport pickup

Has potential but missed the mark. The pool is dirty and unattractive. The room was great - very comfortable. Staff were friendly but the pool was a deal breaker
