Very large beautifully kept Japanese rooms with a lot of space and very nice tatami mats and tasteful decoration. Impeccably clean top floor sento bath with sauna and amenities. We might have gotten a special deal but with what we paid it was the absolute best money for value we encountered in all of Japan. We were between this hotel and a bunch of similar looking other ones and very glad to have opted for the Takasago. Staff was very friendly and forthcoming, too.

Had a very pleasant stay here. Large rooms which is rare in Japan and excellent layout. Canal views from the balcony were very nice. Location is excellent - comfortable walking distance from Kochi station, Kochi castle and all the eating and shopping places. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (specially the western menu) can be improved upon.

Very pleasant hotel with extremely kind staff. I booked a single room at the last minute and, upon checking in, was upgraded to a very nice tatami room with two beds and plentiful space. The building is a bit old and scuffed up in places, but the overall aspect was lovely. The staff remembered me each time I returned and even offered to let me feed the koi in the lobby ☺️ I will come here again next time I am in Kochi. The only negative, I would say, was that the street noises were pretty loud.
