When we arrived the room was called we had to turn the heat on. Once we turn the heat on we had to adjust it and play with it once the heat went on it never shut off even when we turned it to the colder settings it ran all day all night very hard to sleep. It was either sweaty to hot or too cold without us touching anything the water heater are aged in malfunctioning they need updating. We did not feel there was enough room in the bathroom and we felt there some areas in the shower was on sanitary with the water fixture not being explainable how hot and cold works you had to guess a faucet that I have never seen before good luck on that one. Seeing the elk outside or window was gorgeous they're all over the place when it came to the morning breakfast has not been anything like any other place for a free breakfast had very little quite shocked for as many rooms that they have.

This hotel has a very weird vibe and layout. The walls were bare, lacking any type of art or esthetics. The layout was weird, in order to go to the pool we had to descend 4 flights of stairs and wander thru the lobby to get to it. The pool was cold, the restrooms in the pool area were boarded closed and the pool surround was made of jagged little pebbles that felt like walking on broken legos. The room felt spaciously empty. There was a bed and 2 chairs, but they could have fit 2 couches and a love seat in there. The continental breakfast consisted of eggo waffles and sliced pickles for some odd reason, at least as far as i could tell. They had a game room that was well laid out and decorated. It was almost out of place. The bed was actually pretty comfortable, it was the high point. The bathroom was an nightmare of its own. The camode was improperly set leaving for an awkward forward slope, the shower door was not level as indicated by the fact that it wanted to constantly roll open as you shower. The towel hooks and hangers were literally hanging out of the wall. Overall if you need a place to lay your head, and do nothing else, this place might meet your needs. But if that is all you need, i think a hostel would me a better choice economically.

The breakfast was terrible. No hot water in both rooms booked for 30 minutes while we waited with soaked/very cold kids. Both rooms needed a good cleaning of the floor.

Stay was meh. Halls smelt like cigarette smoke and dingy. There was very limited "breakfast" options. Pool wasnt very warm. Staff was nice that was 1 of the only good things.

First, the young man was nice, but he did not do our keys correctly. I had to go back again. Then he did follow me to ensure they worked. Then the bathroom light did not work. He came and checked it out. He said he would move us. I said can you at least let us into the new room? Yes, he did,, but it was a king we needed doubles. Five rooms later he found us a room. All was good and he brought us the key card for the new room.

Our second time here and this just as wonderful as we remember. This hotel is historic, beautiful and a bargain. If you love the charm of yesteryear with updated and thoughtful touches this is the place to stay.

Expedition Lodge was a pleasant surprise. I booked it because I needed a super cheap and quick option for the night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property was tidy and clean. There were fun touches with decorations. You could tell they did a lot with a little. The facility itself is aging, though the rooms were well kept. Good value for the price, and absolutely killer views. (Though that's the case everywhere in Estes Park ;-))

Great stay. The only thing we weren’t a huge fan of is the pool being advertised as a heated pool and it was said to be kept warm but the water was lukewarm . The window in the pool area was left open by staff both times we attempted to swim so the room for the pool was very cold as snow would blow in when the wind blew and the temperatures were freezing outside leaving the room for the pool very cold. Not comfortable for the kids or adults to enjoy the pool comfortably. This was the primary attraction my kids were looking forward to, but the water was far cooler than a normal heated pool and the room for the pool being kept very cold from the outside weather being let it, only allowing the kids 5-10 minutes of the pool time before being left cold and shivering .

Property was nice. Room was clean but dull. (Minimal decor, bland walls) Brekfast was not grest. No meat choices other than eggs that did not appear real in taste. Muffins were old/dry. Only two types of fruit. Coffee was good and hot.
