Really noisy room. I was in a dog friendly room and had to walk through the back of the kitchen to get to it which was hot and smelled strongly of food. Some of the bar staff seemed untrained. Food was good but had to eat in the lounge as had the dogs and it felt very awkward as people were watching the TV extremely loudly with also music playing. Hotel was clean, just a bit tired and bed was very creaky. I could hear the person upstairs tv until at least 3am the first night then the second it was someone snoring! Very passive aggressive note left in the room for dog owners, despite paying £20 per dog per night unlike the advertiser £20 per accommodation as advertised on hotels.com No access to the island with dogs either. There is a really easy walk down the river from the hotel, which was really convenient! Didn’t eat breakfast but assuming there would be no self service I would have to stay in the lounge with the dogs.

Everything was Ok, no exceptional but no poor.

Lovely location. Our room was on the lower level and the bed was rather bumpy but clean.

The property is a little dated, the curtain and carpet was rugged over in the main house. The mattress was hard and didn't feel like a 4 star property. The steak was also not great for the price. The stay is a premium rate and good for a one off, but wouldn't rush back unless there is some renovation.

Senior staff poor interaction with us. Windows had handprints on No clear information at check in. Disorganised staff at breakfast. Anticipating a served breakfast not a buffet’. Saw menu but not out. Luke warm water for tea! Rubbish.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room was great apart from a tea stain on the skirting board. Ridiculous charge of £20 pp to use the pool after 9am and no spa treatments available, so basically we could have stayed anywhere rather than having a “spa break “.

The room was ok, needed hoovering. The Spa was to busy with hottub times being restricted. Altho a good nightvwas gad itcwasnt as goid or as nice as the first stay in October.

Gorgeous 4 poster room, very quiet which was great, overlooking the lake but not in the main building, situated where restaurant is that offers a delicious menu. Staff very welcoming and attentive.

When we checked in we were told we couldn't use the pool or spa until 7am - 9am but when I looked at the info in the room that was when children could use it , we were 2 adults with no kids! plus no idea why we weren't allowed to use the pool the day we checked in. in our room there was a glass of water on the night stand , I dismissed it as just a simple missed item when the room was cleaned. Then the level of noise all night was so bad! no sound proofing at all (we were in the mainland hotel) In the morning I went for a shower and there was no shampoo in the dispenser. I booked this hotel as a Birthday treat for myself and I was so disappointed , I wouldn't have booked if I'd have known we couldn't use the pool and spa. Sadly won't be coming back.
