The property matched photos. Older unit but clean, tidy with fantastic views and perfect location.

We stayed in an ocean view unit at the front of the property and for the price it was fantastic. Short walk to restaurants and shops. Our room was small, but clean. There are larger rooms, but we intentionally chose room 7, I think, for more privacy than the other units. The furnishings and room in general has “tired” decor so if you’re looking for modern and updated this isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a great stay on a budget this should fit your needs and price point.

So happy with our choice of the smaller Waterfront option at Ala Moana Motel. We didnt need loads of space as we were on tours both days and pur Unit 8 was superclean, well positioned and comfortable. Older style bathroom but all that we needed. John our host was welcoming and helpful. Glad to find a guest laundry when we are on longer road trips. 2 mins walk from the Isite and tour offices, Restaurants and the town. Totally recommend Ala Moana. Free parking too

Staying at Ala Moana Motel was not only convenient it was comfortable and secure. The staff were welcoming and happy to have a chat! Everything was in arms reach due to such a great location, and I was able to walk everywhere. It was a spacious room, with great facilities and a comfortable bed!

Host was awesome and lovely, location is amazing and right in the middle of everything in Paihia. The motel itself is a little older but honestly nothing to fuss about with the service/cleanliness and location.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience and would recommend staying here to anyone! The combination of location, great room, and old fashioned hospitality were perfect for us. We truly felt right at home. The owner John is a proper NZ gentleman and was so very nice. We walked to everything and watched fireworks right across from the beach. Pretty amazing all around. Laundry, location, and thoughtfully run. We loved our stay. Next to everything. Great for my family. Would have stayed longer if I had known how it would be.

The apartment was clean and well presented 1970s retro. House keeping guy came everyday very pleasant person. John the host was very informative about the area and tours. Very convenient for town, ferries to other islands and shop's. Within walking distance to the Watangi treaty grounds got to say well worth a visit free shuttle from the wharf and back again.

The property was well located, had everything you needed, John was friendly and helpful, unit was serviced each day & had a lovely sea view.
