Called to see if they could accommodate me a couple of hours earlier so I could leave my bags in the room. They informed me that would cost £20, so I declined. Bad first impression.
I booked an ‘executive room’ as it listed that it had a king size bed in it. Room 34 that I was allocated did not. They moved me to Room 35 that does.
Room 34 stinks of mould too and the bed had a ripped sheet on it! There is evidence of a leak in the ceiling and I don’t think they’ve dealt with the consequences of the leak or tried to improve things.
In room 35 there was black mould on the shower head spouts, black and brown mould around the taps and there is a very unhygienic carpet around the shower and bath.
It needs a deep clean!
The shower is poor, the pressure is weak and took 5 minutes to get to temperature. Not unusual for an old property but still not a great user experience.
Great big towels are a plus.
Nice high ceilings.
Windows that open.
No breakfast menu in the room, which meant we decided to go elsewhere as I can’t eat dairy or eggs. I went down to take a look at the breakfast offering and the food wasn’t too appealing.
I won’t return.
