Excellent staff, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient-particularly the reception staff. We were very fortunate to be given an upgrade-very exciting! This meant a canal view room which was lovely, much quieter than the front of the building. The hotel appears to be undergoing a programme of refurbishment and the dining room is much improved. Unfortunately the same could not be said of the breakfast. It was disappointing that there was only sliced bread available. The slices of cheese were hard and curled and looked most unappetising. The hotel is set in lovely surroundings and the walk along the canal into Skipton is a pretty one, where we saw jumping lambs, ducks, geese, swans and an otter. We always enjoy our stays here.

Hotel is OK. A bit tired in parts though. I paid for a room with a canal view which I could see - if I looked beyond the large number of big bins full of dirty sheets and some car parking spaces. I also asked for a quiet room when I made my booking, again when I completed their online check in and also when I arrived at the hotel. I was given room 308 which has a door to another room. Through this door I could hear everything that was happening next door including the gentleman snoring and coughing, it was like he was in my room! I would not book here again. The corridors are a bit tired and incredibly hot. Car park is large and free for guests. View in the distance beyond the canal is attractive. Staff were all friendly. Didn't think it was value for money though because of the noise from the next door room which resulted in a very poor night's sleep.

We are a family of 5 so stayed in the party suite as would otherwise need 2 rooms. It was absolutely superb. So spacious with loads of amenities. Best hotel room we’ve ever had. Staff lovely and location perfect. Fabulous stay

Staff was very sweet and gave us late check out. The room was older, leaky shower head, cracks in sink. Not a nice place to stay for more than passing through.

Checkin was horrendous. First room was unmade, there was bedlinen lining the corridors & numerous guests were irritated that their room was not ready. Checkin is at 4 but my room was not ready until. The bed was very uncomfortable & the room was cold (with a pathetic small oil heater to try & heat it).

Really disappointing to see the given room was in no way on a par with the photos on Expedia of a crisp modern room. The room given was dated, with cracked amenities which needed replacing. Ditto the gym equipment. Staff lovely though location good. Just doesn’t match what was promised and paid for.

Great place to stay and staff in the restaurant were amazing

We have stayed at the Skipton hotel on a number of occasions and always felt that it was good value for money. There has been some improvements to the property in particular the restaurant. Unfortunately there has been a deterioration in the breakfast!! The coffee served from a heated urn was not hot and when I remarked on this the waitress lifted the lid and remarked well there was steam! The breakfast area was rather cramped which made serving yourself difficult and again the hot breakfast was not hot. Even the eggs fresh from the kitchen were only luke warm. We were very disappointed with our experience and since on this occasion we had to pay extra for breakfast, I don’t think we will be venturing to the Skipton hotel again.

Nice staff rooms need a make over

Evening meal consisted of a frozen pizza, certainly not fresh made on site. Breakfast was boring uninviting standard English. Bedroom was "tired" There were notices saying that they are refubishing. It wood have been nice to be advised on this when booking. I certainly dont think the room charge was taking the above into account

Bit run down and dated. Even easily replaceable things like a pedal bin was broken. Staff were lovely and helpful and food and drink was fine.

We had 3 nights here and really enjoyed ourselves We made the most of the lovely pool. Had 4 swims in the 4days… the leisure staff were always so helpful and friendly. Very impressed with that and their happy attitudes. We enjoyed the 5*breakfast and ate in the restaurant twice in the evenings. The food was excellent and lots of choice. The staff were super helpful and efficient. Our room was serviced by excellent staff and one particular member really stood out to make our stay comfortable (Simran) … she was consistently super happy and helpful each day. Overall, we had a great stay and enjoyed all the places of much interest close by. Don’t miss Skipton Castle, Grassington, Haworth amongst just a few places. We didn’t get to experience the new restaurant but hope to visit again in the future.

The hotel is a bit dated and in need of renovation. It is clean, tidy and the staff are friendly. I enjoyed my stay.

A great hotel In a lovely location

We stayed as a family as we were attending a funeral in skipton. Hotel conveniently located overlooking the canal. Hotel was undergoing some renovations work but it didn’t spoil our stay - breakfast relocated to first floor but was good selection and nice and hot. Staff really helpful And freindly - would love to go back when we have more time.

The hotel is undergoing renovation work but it didn’t spoil our stay - the staff were so helpful and kind as we were staying to attend a family funeral. We had a lovely room overlooking the canal at a good price which was fortunate for our family as we needed 4 rooms. The hotel is about a Mile out of skipton overlooking the canal and countryside. Breakfast is temporarily being served upstairs while the restaurant is refurbished- it was buffet style and nice and hot and good value . Overall really pleased with our stay 👍😊
