We specifically requested a quiet upper floor room but were told the hotel was full and given a ground floor very close to the little pool, as most are, where a valentines party of 66 were celebrating. The safe in our room was inoperable and there was only tepid water. On contacting the manager we were told that guests had walked off with the safe key and that no one else had complained about the water. The room is claimed to be 41 square meters on their website which is simply not true. The massive bed occupies most of the room so only one person at a time can get past it. People walk past the room constantly and soundproofing is poor so you can hear conversation outside. At dinner we waited an hour and five minutes to be served and some cutlery arrived with the food as it was all being used by the party. On the plus side the reasonably priced food and wine at dinner was good as was breakfast, the aircon was efficient and quiet, the fridge and TV both worked well, the WiFi was good and the hot water returned in the morning. An upper floor room had been available but no answer forthcoming as to why we had not been given it. We enjoyed our stay as we felt like extras in an episode of Fawlty Towers but would not repeat the experience or recommend it to others.
