I have no idea how this place had a 8.0 rating. This is 1 or 2. Carpets were filthy, some of the bedding was stained. Seriously, just burn the place down, it was that bad.

Hotel is abandoned.

Hotel was closed by city due to fire regulations, and was not notified. Just hoping to get my money back now.

Pulled in to a dark parking lot. No cars. No lighs. No motel. It’s closed. I booked and paid for one night. There was construction materials in lobby looked thru front door. Please please take off your website. The worst hotel stay or should I say NONSTAY EVER. had to drive over 30 miles to find a room for the night. Which wasn’t great. I’ll list one thing only. Too much wrong to write. There were NO DOOR KNOBS ON ANY ROOM They took them off. Lovely night just lovely

The hallway was very dirty. We walk into the room and there was a dirty washcloth on the bathroom counter. We pulled the sheets back on the bed, and there was a longer black hair on the sheet that you lay on. The continental breakfast consisted of a loaf of bread with a jar of peanut butter With a knife stuck in the jar. Also two containers with cereal. very unappealing.

The clerk walked out to us with no bra on, barefoot, not friendly, called because i forgot some items in the room, very rude, yelling unfriendly. When we went to the room, you push the fur and it opened rugby up. Bathroom dirty, shower slimey, horrible experience

As soon as we opened the door a dog came running up to us. Thankfully, we like dogs so it's wasn't a big deal but not everyone does. Then the lady at the front desk starts showing us her feet because it was hot and they were swollen. It was hot but still weird. Then she tells us to hold on a minute. We were standing there waiting for a good 10 minutes thinking she still needed something. She starts petting her dog and I ask her if we're good and she just says, "Oh, yeah". The breakfast area was some cabinets just placed in the hallway. There was only cereal, toast, and coffee. We get down to our room and the gentleman comes out because he had just turned on the air-conditioning. It had been 104°F. It was the ground floor and there were only shear curtains on the window. There was only one working light. One of the pillows didn't have a pillow case. When my husband went to ask for a pillow case they said they would bring it to the room. They did bring it to the room but then the guy tried looking passed my husband to see into the room. There was what looked like major mold on the wall behind the toilet as well. Unfortunately, that was the only hotel that we knew of in that town and we just needed a place to sleep for the night. Not great but we have had to sleep in worse places. The staff seemed friendly enough. Just not very professional.

The place stinks, from the hall into the room. There was hair in the bathtub. The towels and bedding are worn out. The chairs have stains on them. I would not have stayed here but for the fact the ac in my camper did not work in the 105 degree heat. I did not sleep well and was out the door before 6 AM.

I don't think the sheets were clean. There were hairs when we pulled the sheets back that weren't ours.

This property was dirty from the front door to the room and within. Floors hadn’t been vacuumed in quite awhile. There were hairs and buggers in the bathroom. The air conditioner sounded like a jet plane and didn’t actually cool the room off until 3:00 in the morning. The room was sweltering hot. Would never recommend this place.

The bed was warm and there was plumbing and tv. Other than that the stay was mediocre. The small breakfast bar was not stocked in the morning with nothing but probably the previous morning's leftover half loaf of bread, cereal, 2 granola bars, and a quart of milk.

She wasn't at the desk, had to call her. Very unfriendly, just sat and typed on the keyboard for 5 minutes. Then put the card on the desk just stared at me.

First off, the name of the hotel is Regency not Smart Choice. You can't tell me they changed that overnight and didn't inform us of the change. The room in the pictures looks much better than the actual room. The air conditioner looks like its hanging on by a thread. The woman checking us in seemed to have a problem but it turns out she was just distracted from her barking dog. The breakfast was horrible! Two choices of cereal or white bread. Ok there was jam or peanut butter but no butter. Coffee was probably left over from the day before and just reheated. I don't think if it was fresh it would have been any better. No, I would not stay there again.

Staff was extremely polite and very helpful property was clean. Had a very wonderful day.

Price was good. Bed was comfortable.

The room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. The sheets looked dirty but it may be they were just stained. Where the air unit as I could see outside along the edge. The photos shown in the app for this property were clearly not of this property.

I have stayed in third world country hotels during my career. This place ranks right down there with the worst of them. There was no one there to check me in. I hung around for 30 minutes. Dirty and worn.

It was convenient.

Room was clean. Breakfast was a joke.

I had reserved the room in advance as it said there was only one left, but upon arriving, it didn't appear that was the case. The Host were ok, helpful and talkative, but the room was something to be desired. The TV didn't work, I asked for the wifi access and didn't get a response on that. There were some type of bugs crawling all over, we slept with towels over our pillows. The TV didn't go off, it for some reason had no picture, but was still on. I slept with an eye mask to shield the lightness. Thankfully we only had to spend a minimal amount of time there as we headed out very early in the morning to continue on to Custer, SD. It was deceiving because the room stated it was $59(or$54?), but it actually ended up costing us $72 because I added some insurance plan that was confusing when I did the online reservation. I thought it was to reserved the room due to it only showing 1 available, but after arriving and seeing that not to be the case, it seemed to me a gimmick on getting more money out of a person traveling looking for a place to stay. Either way, it definitely wasn't a good experience and we will probably never stay there again or refer it to anyone else traveling out that way. I guess you get what you get in Plankinton, SD
