It was an easy walk to the center of York, but not in the middle of the chaos - beautiful view of the river from the lounge area. Quiet and comfortable

Great location just a short walk to York's historic centre - perfect for exploring the Shambles, the Minster, and other attractions. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, making for a relaxing short stay.

Hotel backed onto the river. The rooms were large and had modern bathrooms. Brwajdast was goid with a nice dining area. There was a large common room. Rooms were cleaned each day and tea, coffee and cookies replenished. No airconditioning so with the windows open, it was a little noisy.

Breakfast was the worst buffet I've had this year. Deep-fried oil-filled mushrooms, cheap sausage and tasteless scrambled eggs. Lacking in quality sums up the whole hotel. On the plus side, good location in central York

It’s a very dated hotel. The bedroom was bare with very plain furnishings. If you’re looking for a place that feels special, this isn’t it. However, if all you want is a room (that doubles sauna) then it’s ok. But city centre prices, so ok but pricey Very little in the way of tea and coffee (instant only and a kettle).

Lovely room, helpful front desk, loved the breakfast. Good location near some good pubs, restaurants and only 10 min walk to train station.

Excellent location of hotel to venture into York centre . Room was really clean and relaxing . We were heading off early the following morning and the reception staff went out of their way to sort out breakfast for us. Really kind and welcoming reception staff

We arrived to our room with a toilet that did not work and a bathroom that had not been cleaned. There was toothpaste in the sink and the hair in the bathtub was completely gross. The shower had mold in the corners. The fire alarm went off on two different days and it seems like this is an ongoing problem. The mattress and the pillows were as old as the hotel. Was a horrible stay.

Not the best of views,as in the centre of the hotel. Right above dining room and bar, quite noisy at times, with kitchen extractor unit fastened to our bedroom wall running till late at night and from 5am, in the morning. Lack of plug sockets in the room. Asked for an extension lead,as I use a CPAP machine. The reception staff knew straight away and were very forthcoming with one. Paid £142 for a nights stay including full English breakfast. Which I thought was pretty reasonable in comparison. Room was ok if a little tired looking.

We had a river view during our weekend stay, and it was perfect. The hotel is a little dated and could do with some updates, but aside from that it is clean, tidy and quiet. As the hotel is just over the river from the main centre, it meant you were able to have a good nights sleep. The location is perfect with it being minutes away from the centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
