Everything was great except the pillows. Bring your own or be okay with mildew smell all night. Clean your remote with alcohol, it's gross too. They do have full size refrigerators and the hotel is located next to a grocery store which is super convenient.

We used a set of bedding we brought from home. The motel bedding was really old. The bed was clean though. There was still trash on the floor (see picture) that I came across plugging in my charger. This place has no front desk, you have to go to the hotel next door to check in/out or ask for anything. Do not ask for a washcloth or a face towel they don’t do that anymore. I went and bought my own, no biggie. They do not have enough body towels at any given time. They did not replace the bath mat towel that I brought to her either. Door was broken at the bottom (see picture). There something on the ceiling and stains on the lampshades and walls. It does come with a microwave and a mini fridge which was nice, a/c/heater worked just fine. Interacting with the Starlight staff was awful, but the Oasis next door was great, thank you Nadia!

Third time here in two months. It's been cheaper than Motel 6. Generallt quieter, too, unless you get a room near the highway. Room was fine. Two issues with my stay. First i discovered was no soap. They had a tube of shampoo and a tube of lotion, but no soap. The other issue, i didn't discover until later: The minifridge wasn't working. The eyedrops that i need to keep cool were room temperature. It was plugged in, and the internal knob was turned to coldest, but it did not cool. Well, three issues, i guess: the toilet was only semi-functional. Didn't flush properly. At the price point, i'll give them another try, but may eventually just cough up more to stay somewhere more reliable.

I’ve never had to leave a negative review like this one. Hotel site-manager allowed the booking, then was shouting loudly and completely rude upon check-in. I told him I didn’t know what his problem was but that this was clearly not the hotel for me. When I returned to front office for a copy of the receipt no one was there. Walking past the housekeeper I inquired about management and she said he had left for the day. !! So, needless to say I never got my money returned and he probably had a steak dinner that night. Unprofessional and bad for business! I feel embarrassed for his boss or the hotel owners because he is not a good representative of that establishment, unfortunately.

As there isn't any staff at the Starlight I had to go next door at the Oasis to check in. No staff, no breakfast, no ice machine. The room itself has been updated. Older furniture, but a comfortable bed (which is what counts for me).

Second stay in two weeks. Good price, and I'd stay again. Main difference is, last time my room was back away from CA-62, and it was quiet. This time, i was in 202, near the highway. Serious road noise, magnified by the 3-4 cm gap (yes, that big!) at the bottom of the door, due to a broken door sweep. The frame and door were a poor fit, as well. Without leaving the fan running on high, it was too loud to sleep. Toilet had a slow leak from the tank through the bowl, so constant noise from that, too. But the bathroom is far enough away the noise wasn't noticeable from bed. Bed was fine. Shower was fine. Small refrigerator and microwave. Small in room coffee maker. If a small weak cup is enough, you're fine. Otherwise, short drive to Burger King or longer (mile and a half) to Starbucks.

Great for the price. Good location. Room had a minifridge and microwave. Seems it and the Oasis next door are in the midst of renovations. Check in was across the parking lot, in the Oasis. Only one guy on the frontdesk, not enough for the two hotels, and also fielding calls. Bit of a wait to check in. Carpet was moderately clean. Wallpaper looked new, but coming apart at the seams. The "Zen Garden" is a filled swiming pool with artificial grass over the dirt. Not a lot zen about that. The patio of the Oasis Inn was filled with beds and furniture. Apparently, Starlight guests can normally go there, but not the pool at the Oasis.

Good value motel. Easy to check in, easy to park, good location near the park entrance and grocery stores. My room was very clean but a little bit shabby - the wallpaper was peeling a bit, the amenity space looked to be under construction, etc. Still, good value for what I needed.

It was interesting that we checked into the motel by going to The Oasis next door. It made sense that there are a limited number of hotel workers in the community. We were very satisfied with the accommodations and the price for 2 day stay. We got to attend the retirement ceremony of a Marine Corps officer, the after party and drive into Joshua Tree in both the daylight and under the stars. It was a lovely weekend.

Having basic necessities good. Maintenace around and plants was good. The room entry way doesn't have the best secured thresh hold to keep the critters from coming in. The place has no pest control to lay a bug barrier on entry points. I stayed till the next morning. I mentioned the bugs in the room. They sure weren't shocked nor had any concerns if I could have any allergies. Luckly, I don't have but I can't sleep comfortably knowing bugs be roaming the room. The next day I moved to the second floor. felt nice and comfortable. Hours go by up stairs ,just disappointment when using the bathroom. I look down all I see is a cricket moving to my feet. After I look under the bottom sink and see like 3 or more Crickets. All I got was a one hour later checkout.

Older but well cared for property. Lots of 4x4ers and overlandiers staying here. Convenient to ANZA-Borrego and central to Borrego Springs amenities. Stayed two nights after running trails.
