Checked out yesterday.
Wanted to put in a proper review here that commensurate the quality of this hotel, wrote a brief one in my booking app that did not do justice after reading it again.
Very friendly and attentive staff that are always ready to help, even chipped in with great advice when I was simply discussing with my wife the plan for the day at the lobby. Well staffed and never missed a beat even during peak hours. From check-in to out, very efficient and hassle free. I catered extra time for that but every process was done in less than a minute.
Basic breakfast in a busy, small but cosy restaurant with very attentive staff and takin care of my kids when I away to grab food.
Location was incredible, literally everything was at its doorstep.
Room was extremely spacious, well furnished, maintained, clean and always tidied with change of towels daily despite only a three days stay (where other hotels won’t do it daily). Sound proofing was incredible giving my family a peaceful rest every night. Considering the age of the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised that everything were working perfectly down to the most inessential electronics 🤣 and the renovations/furniture were up to date. The bed and pillows were top notch standards. Did I mention their Bath tub was huge, the largest I experienced in Taiwan after staying over 10 hotels from my past visits. I have one complain though, the central lights control are in traditional Chinese characters. English maybe? Anyway, I overcame it in 5secs during Google translate lens✌🏼.
I often rate hotels based on the disposable shaver they provide because it tells you the attention they put into the smallest details, this was a 10/10 for me 🤪. Good quality with shaving cream.
In summary, perfect hotel for family visits to Yilan! It was a tough decision whether to stay in a kids theme hotels that are in abundance here or this. No regrets as we decided that kids should rest comfortably in the room with no distractions, and that we had some hygiene concerns during our last trip in the kids theme room. Loved it and will definitely choose this hotel again as Taiwan and Japan are our top vacation destinations.
Considering the small scale of this hotel, I am surprised by the standards of the staff and their staffing at non-peak and peak hours. The quality of the bedding is another unexpected surprise. Honestly, we brought our own pillows but never had a chance to take it out of its vacuumed pack. Quite amazing. I convinced my wife that we don’t need 5-stars hotels for family trips.
