This hotel is in an old building and it shows in places. The shower was poor and the hot water took a long time to arrive, windows didn't open properly and the TV wouldn't show terrestrial channels (we reported this but the hotel staff couldn't make it work). On the plus side, the breakfast menu was excellent with great, freshly prepared dishes and homemade bread and served by an extremely helpful member of staff. But this was let down slightly by the cheap, nasty, plastic packets of jam which seemed at odds with the quality of the rest. This is primarily a wedding venue but a very nice place to stay midweek, quiet and comfortable.

Very helpful staff, very good restaurant, beautiful well maintained grounds, good parking. Room could have done with slightly more modern amenities(wardrobe, better shower, bigger bed) but this is after all a very interesting old building!!

A quirky place with undoubted history but a little tired and in need of investment. The staff are great and the food is limited in choice, but good.

Just love stopping here. The food is really first class and the staff are lovely. We stay here on the way or way back from our sons in Somerset. It has weddings on a weekend and the restaurant closes on a Monday so we do try to fit our travel plans in so we can stop here.

Received a warm welcome by a young polite gentleman. Gave us good advice on a trip we were planning whilst showing us to our room which was large and clean. Personally I would have preferred a shower but the corner bath was fine. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is an old building in need of some restoration but it has lots of charm. Unable to comment on the evening meal but there was a good choice to be had for breakfast and was cooked to order. Its not 5 star but would certainly recommend it

Downstairs areas are all in good order; staff are pleasant and welcoming. I stayed in the Stafford room, so my review is based on this room. I can't say if this is reflective of other rooms. The room was in a very poor state, the furniture and especially the sofa were beyond poor. Ants across the floors, and moths on the walls. The headboard on the bed was foisty, carpets were unclean A very unpleasant stay. Breakfast was decent, and the service was good

Very comfortable room, excellent breakfast

Lovely from start to finish. Staff excellent - the meals were the best I had in two weeks in the UK. Make sure to ask for the bedroom on the first floor with the patio area - fantastic ! (Team Grafton - maybe a sign for which door is reception could be helpful but not mandatory : -)

Lovely building, very nice staff, but our room was really hot and had no means of adjusting the temperature. If we opened the window the road noise from the motorway kept us awake. As a result I had hardly any sleep. I would not stay again as I think all the rooms were the same.

Great room, great staff, very comfy bed

Stayed in the music room - lovely big room and en-suite, clean and nicely furnished but could do with a lick of paint to cover the ceiling cracks in the main room and small areas of peeling paint in the bathroom. Breakfast very tasty. Staff friendly, professional, polit and helpful. No problem parking.

very impressed. great setting in a historic building. one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in.

Nice old fashioned manor house. A nice change from the the modern cube room. Nice staff esp. the breakfast team. Small issues of maintenance in my room - bedside bulb broken, shower hose leaking badly. Wanted to report it but the reception was unmanned when I left. Would definitely stay again. Could be cold in the winter I had an attic room .

The hotel looks very nice from the outside with big grounds but the inside is very dated including furnishings!

Grafton Manor is a unique hotel with old world charm. The star were without exception friendly and helpful and the breakfast and dinner was excellent!

Beautiful Manor to stay in plus lovely quiet surroundings. Staff very friendly & helpful will definitely be returning in the near future.

One night stay in the Porch Room, very comfy bed and a spacious room.
