Cute hotel. Very quaint, clean, good breakfast. Good value for the price. We stayed at the casita. Bed was a bit hard and they don’t have colchas just thin bed covers but overall it was ok. What I love the most was that it is very Nicaraguan.

This is a beautiful hotel, near to all the restaurants at the port, walking distance to the beach. Front desk really nice and helpful and the breakfast was awesome. I will come back!

I want to move in permanently. Can you just rent me the little bungalow in the back. Well run. And so clean. If anything though i would have loved a hammock and a fully reclining lounge chair. I will be back. Soon!!

Small, clean, friendly hotel in excellent beachtown location! Fabulous cooked breakfast consisting of NICA local fare. All employees strive to make stay pleasant. Our 2nd visit to this city-I would certainly stay here again. The pool was extremely clean. All aspects of the facility are well maintained. I would recommend!

This was my 4th or 5th trip to San Juan del Sur and the first time staying at La Posada Azul. This place appears to be an old colonial style hotel, dark wood floors, verandas and rattan furniture and tropical landscaping. The setting is beautiful, the pictures can hardly do the place justice. Breakfast was amazing, my favorite was the breakfast burrito and the kitchen were all very accommodating. The front desk staff were all very pleasant and also accommodating whether I needed a hair dryer, a bucket of ice or directions to local attractions. The room was spacious and quaintly appointed with rattan furniture including a large wardrobe. There is no television in the rooms, which I found to be a positive. And the shower was hot! (a luxury in Nicaragua). They have 3 or 4 seating areas where one can read or just sip a coke or Tona from the "bar". You could help yourself and just had to note on the sheet at the bar what you had taken. And they have a small boutique with items from local artists and businesses such as pottery, woven baskets, beautiful scarves and coffee. I will definitely be staying here again.

The Posada Azul was wonderful. Perfect location, incredibly clean, wonderful breakfast, and lovely staff. The property was pristine and a slice of paradise. The only way it could have been improved is the addition of some hammocks in the garden ;) Thank you for a perfect stay!!

The Posada Azul is a charming old home converted into a small hotel. It is quite charming and well located. Most of the staff were nice and attentive although a couple could use a little more customer service training. Although small, the rooms were nice and clean. Our major complaint is the bed. It was as hard as a rock. Neither my wife were able to get much sleep. We are international consultants and accustomed to sleeping in all kinds of hotels. However, I don't think we have slept on a mattress as hard as the one at the Posada Azul.

Great location to walk to restaurants and Casa Oro for shuttles to other beaches. Staff arranged wonderful turtle tour for us. Nice garden and dipping pool. Front rooms are a bit dark. Breakfasts were lovely

Staff were great and helpful. Room and property were beautiful. The photos don't do it justice. Perfect location next to the beach and amazing breakfast. The pool was also a great addition. All in all a wonderful place to stay!

La Posadao Azul was one of the high points of our stay in Nicaragua - the long porches with rockers, the flowers, the superb breakfasts.

Everything about our stay was perfect! We arrived early in the morning before check in time and they allowed us to store our luggage. Once the room was ready we checked in very easily. The hotel staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. This is a small hotel with only 7 rooms. It includes a full, served breakfast every morning and it was so good! Ours was fruit, muffins, coffee, tea, juice, and a different entree each day. The grounds are very nice and tranquil with pretty flowers and a nice pool. The pool has towels so no need to pack one or use the one from your room. The honor bar was very handy when we didn't want to go out to the stores in town. There is a little store attached with cute gifts to bring home. The location is perfect! Just off the beach on the quieter end of town so you can relax if you want or just take a quick walk and be right in the thick of the party. There is a watchman at night, so we always felt perfectly safe. I would and will stay here again. They are wonderful!

My wife and I loved this hotel. Staff was amazing, location was perfect, and the colonial style courtyard was a great place to relax. We have stayed in many boutique hotels in Central America and this one just might be our favourite. The breakfast was also much more than we were expecting. If you don't like this little gem there might be something wrong with you.
