Wonderful stay in Vietri sur Mare!!! Went for a dip in the pool, large room with amenities

Residence zelzar is perfect if you want to experience amalfi coast with less tourists. The town is very cute with lots of ceramic shops and excellent food. The room was well equipped and clean and the management communication was excellent. We had a wonderful time here. Very high up on the hill but easy to drive down with a car or catch the bus. Don’t underestimate the cafe bar royal where we had a free coffee and croissant every morning! Excellent pastries and very friendly.

I would highly recommend Hotel Zelzar for the budget traveler looking to unplug with beautiful views of the Amalfi. Have WhatsApp downloaded so you can communicate with the property manager, who is extremely helpful and nice. The hotel is located in Benicasa, a slightly remote village accessible only by private car, taxi, or regular bus (the 1 line or the 69, the former which runs every hour at 815; 915, etc and will take you all the way to Salerno centro). There is no grocery store nearby and only the Bar Royal, staffed by friendly bar tenders and a host of regulars outside. The room itself is very nice with a spectacular view. The hardest part was transportation to and from Benincasa without a private car. It is ~20 minute bus ride to Vietre Sul Mar, where you can take another bus (the 63) to the Vietre Marina where you can then take ferries to other parts of the Amalfi coast. I still wouldn’t recommend a car; the village is remote and the road is a single lane shared by traffic in two directions. However, once you’re in your clean, air conditioned room, it’s so nice to unplug and take in the country side and ocean views. There is a wonderful restaraunt called La Limonetta that has some of the best food we tasted that is 1km away within walking distance. Again, couldn’t recommend the hotel more for the budget traveler looking to unplug from the craziness of the Amalfi Coast towns.

The staff was very helpful, except when I asked about transportation to the train station for my departure. Bus is apparently the only public transportation and you cannot get taxi or uber service. The accommodations were very nice and I had a beautiful view of the ocean. It was also difficult to get there due to the remoteness. Make sure to have your own transportation if staying here.

Very bad experience

Stayed at residence Zelzar for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer! The staff were great at answering our questions quickly, and helped us with a couple of issues we had (on our end, not at their fault). The views were fantastic, and we enjoyed going to bar royal for breakfast.

We stayed here on a road trip through Italy, It was an amazing stay we had great communication with the host that told us in detail where we could park (a safe car park). The room itself was large and well supplied with towels and soap etc , clean and comfortable! We had an incredible view from the balcony and the pool area is very well kept and clean. It’s in the perfect location to go and see the Amalfi coast, it’s out of the busy areas and very peaceful. There is a great restaurant close by where you can eat under lemon trees too! I wish we stayed longer!

I stayed for 4 days and had issues with WiFi since I arrived, I tried to contact the host and every time they told me tomorrow we will send someone to fix it and it didn’t happen till the last day of my stay.

Paradise, the view is mesmerising. I would highly recommend to everyone. However, bare in mind basically the only way to and from the airport from the accommodation is by taxi which costs €150 each way. So the costs do add up. But my trip was so memorable. Beautiful area and stay. The host was helpful in most ways until our last night when water was spilt over the balcony he sent quite angry text message our way. Overall nice stay.

The host for the this property, Andrea couldn't have been any better. He was so helpful and made sure outstay was enjoyable as possible. On arrival he showed us round the apartment and gave us information on how to get to near by towns. He brought us breakfast every morning and was on hand to answer any questions we had, even speaking by WhatsApp when we needed him. The apartment was super clean and in good condition, there was a balcony with outdoor seating which was lovely to sit and have breakfast on (unfortunately for us this only happened once due to bad weather). The apartment in only a 20 minute walk down the hill to Vieri Sul Mare, however the second half of this walk is walking on A roads with no pavement, which was a little bit sketchy at times. There was also buses down, but you had to go to find a shop which would sell bus tickets before getting on. There was buses to Solerna and Amalfi, these got crowded and usually had over an hour of waiting for one to turn up. Overall I could not fault this apartment or the service which Andrea provided and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in a quiet area.

We enjoyed our stay overall at Residence Zelzar. It was a good rate for the facilities and the manager was very accommodating and helpful. We rented the flat with a kitchen, and the kitchen was the reason we chose this venue as we didn't want to eat out all the time. I will say it was disappointing that there was no freezer or freezing capability within the fridge (which we didn't realize until after we'd bought some vegan gelato at the store unfortunately). The kitchen is quite small, so I'd say that people interested in cooking a lot should be aware that this kitchen is limited to a two-burner hob and very little counter space. Also, on our last night, we drew a bath in the gorgeous large bathtub, only to find that the hot water stopped about a quarter of the way up; after this, our shower/bath water was cold for 40 minutes. We gave up and went to bed.

We only stayed for one night while explore the almafi coast.We had the yellow apt. Great, spotless, modern apt with a huge balcony. Stunning views. Very quiet little town. A true authentic experience. The host is amazing and will help with all your needs.

Absolutely amazing place:) Very nice people who own and run the hotel, very modern, clean place. Lovely swimming pool and outstanding views from all the rooms. Very good location too, 10 min by bus witch runs every hour to the closes towns. Highly recommended!!

Helaas was het appartement niet schoon en rrg gehorig. De koelkast maakt een luid geluid waardoor slapen erg beïnvloed werd. In de keuken is te weinig aanwezig om zelf een maaltijd te kunnen makene. Wij hebben zelf glazen en een koekenpan moeten kopen.. Wel is het zwembad fijn en een mooi uitzicht.

Check in war etwas kompliziert,leider niemand vor Ort .Ok ,das war dann irgendwann geklärt .Als wir dann in die Wohnung kamen ,stank es leider fürchterlich!Sie als Gastgeber müssen an diesem Problem unbedingt etwas ändern !!Der kleine Duftdyfuser bringt da leider nichts ! Der Pool war klasse und sauber !Aussicht zur linken Hand aufs Meer ,rechts schaute man auf einen Friedhof .Störte und jetzt aber nicht . Das Auto konnten wir auf einen Stellplatz abstellen ,der zur Unterkunft gehörte .Ca.150m Straße aufwärts.

Det var en fantastisk plats att bo på. Värden var inte på plats, men väldigt tillgänglig via meddelande. Lägenheten mötte våra förväntningar och allt var väldigt bra!
