The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Let's start with the good. The room was decent and clean. It could use a fixer up, and things were getting worn, but all in all, liveable. Beds are firm but comfortable. The 2 managers on staff were great. Samir and Abdul made sure we were accommodated day or night. They are available when we need them, whether for questions or booking a car. The food was good. The hamburgers were amazing and freshly made, not frozen. Moroccan salad was super refreshing. Fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast was awesome. I loved that they had a Nespresso machine in the room as I like to enjoy my coffee in quiet before waking the rest of my family. Now for the bad. Our room had two leaks. The toilet had a slow leak somewhere in the back where we could not see, and a puddle would form slowly. In the bedroom area, there was a leak from the ceiling as we returned to the room one night. It drenched 2 of our shirts, but thankful did not get any of our electronics. We notified Samir, and it was fixed by morning. The pool was directly above our room and where the leak was from. The shower also had a broken interior handle, so no one could shower without the help of someone helping you open and close the glass door from outside. And for the ugly. We returned multiple days in a row to find our makeup being used. The first few days, I thought I had just forgotten and left our stuff out unorganized. But by the 3rd day, my daughter noticed that her brand new,

A little gem! Lovely Riad wonderful helpful staff and fantastically situated in easy walking distance of most things! Finding it the first time is a little challenge but once found finding it again is fine. Breakfasts were traditional and lovely! I will be returning.

This ‘experience’ was fantastic, inside the Medina is a mesmerising chaos but the riad was quite cool and a haven. This is not a hotel but a traditional riad. Nothing was too much trouble, even obtaining alcohol during Ramada.Local knowledge was always available. Breakfast was traditional and very nice. We were met at the airport and then on the street to be taken down many alleys to the riad , I would suggest you need this if you’re new to the area Would I stay here again? In a heartbeat, thank you for a great and memorable week

Great stay at Riad Swaka. Great location within the medina while still being peaceful. Abdoul made us feel very welcome, picking us up from drop off point and providing suggestions

The staff was amazing, anything you needed someone was there to assist. Would have loved to have known about ordering dinner in the morning before we arrived, as it was too late to order for that night and after 20 hour trip to arrive, we were too tired to try and explore food options. This Riad is nice and quiet, but requires a short walk through winding paths to get to anywhere to get food or anything else. Riad should also put something on confirmation telling future guests that taxi cannot drop at th door. We ended up paying a cab which circled around trying to find it before the cab driver loaded our bags into a hand cart that another person pushed through the maze with us following on foot to the Riad. It makes a funny story, but two sleep deprived tourists were not amused when it happened. So more information on how to arrive, and possible the suggestion to allow a dinner reservation in advance of the check in would make the visit perfect. That said, the food was wonderful! I loved my cooking lesson with Zahera. Put that on the website as well!

It's a hidden paradise in a fantastic location in the heart of Marrakech. The place is beautiful but what makes it are the staff from Samir who gave us all the information we needed and made himself very accessible, organising transport to the airport, giving us the best prices for things and arranging camel riding. Then there is Abdul, a Berber who was keen to teach anyone about the local language and culture, is always keen to help out and cooks the best tagine, morrocan salad and croquettes that you will have while in Morocco.

It’s a beautiful little Riad in a great location in Medina. The staff are amazing people and very helpful. We dealt with Samira, Mohamed, and Abdul. They were very helpful and accommodating. It made our stay very enjoyable. The rooftop is also nice to sit for breakfast and enjoy the sunshine. The mattresses are a little bit too hard for my liking, but everything else was great. Make sure you get in touch with them before for directions, or else it could be quite tricky to find for a first timer to Marrakech.

Our stay at Riad Swaka was absolutely wonderful. The room was clean, well decorated, and extremely quiet. We had our best nights sleep in ages there. As it’s situated in the old city, finding it initially through the mazy streets was slightly tricky. If you call ahead, they will send someone to meet you and guide you to the Riad. Samir was an excellent host and provided us with hospitality which was way above and beyond. For instance my stomach was playing up one evening so he cut some rosemary from the terrace garden to make a tea and it really did help. He also made an excellent breakfast which we enjoyed on the roof terrace overlooking Bahia Palace in the morning sun. Although we were only there for a couple of nights, we wished it was for longer and will be looking to stay here again on our next visit to Marrakech.

This Riad was an amazing stay. The service was amazing - Abdul greeted us when we first arrived with Moroccan tea and gave us some great tourist places to go to! The Riad itself is quite hard to find (especially if arriving in the dark) but we managed it eventually. It is a close enough walk to the hustle and bustle of the Medina markets but feels so quiet when at the Riad.

Riad Swaka was absolutely incredible! We arrived quite late and were able to add an evening meal to our booking which was absolutely delicious. We were given such a warm welcome by Abdoul and Samir, who were always available to help us with recommendations and Arabic lessons! It was like being welcomed by family and we can’t wait to return. I would recommend this riad to everyone; it is right in the heart of the action, but is absolutely peaceful and quiet and just the most beautiful place.

Latina and abdouel (night manager) were amazing. The morning breakfast was really good. Room was large and accommodated four adults well. Finding the Riad was a bit difficult at first-great location.

Me and my partner really enjoyed ourselves in this fantastic Riad. my partner and I never been to Marrakech before and didn't know what to expect. We both loved it and all staff in the hotel were all so helpful and recommend places for us to go. The owner helped us get a traditional hamman and a trip to the waterfall. I would highly recommend this place as you'll feel so welcomed!

The details of this Riad were slightly misleading as there wasn't a bar, hot tub or room service and the location of this Riad meant that we couldnt be picked up directly for day trips. Having said that, Samir was the saving grace for us as he made this Riad 'something special'. He went above and beyond the call of duty for us by making us feel so welcome and he makes the BEST TEA!!! We cant thank him enough as it wouldn't have been the same experience without him. Samir....we won't forget what you did for us, the late night chats...i could go on...!! Thanks Samir 😀

Excellent, reasonably priced accommodation a few minutes away from all the action. Our room was great as it had a window, clean comfy beds, excellent pillows, and lights above our individual beds. The terrace is beautiful complete with bird songs and the breakfasts sumptious. But the best part of the experince is the staff, especially Samir, our teacher, who taught us so much about Morrocan/Berber life. My only suggestion is there should be a TIP BOX for the staff in the main area.

Once we figured out how to get to and from the Riad it was easy to find. Negotiating the Souk between there and the main square became a challenge, to "Run the Gauntlet" without being hassled by the local shopkeepers we managed by the 2nd day. Being waited on and pampered was wonderful after our previous city. The rooftop terrace and plunge pool was heaven. They couldn't do enough for us.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Swaka and were warmly welcomed by Mohamed when we arrived. The riad itself is beautiful – our room was clean, cozy, and always well taken care of throughout our stay. The location is perfect: right in the heart of the old Medina, just next to the impressive Ben Youssef Palace. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and the atmosphere around the pool was peaceful and relaxing. A special thank-you to Abdul – he was incredibly kind, always available for a nice conversation, and genuinely interested in making sure we were comfortable. You can really feel that the hosts here take their time to understand your needs and wishes. We highly recommend Riad Zwarka to anyone looking for an authentic and warm stay in Marrakech.
