The hotel is very strange and you have to check in online then you get given a code walk to your room and on the wall next to your room is a lockbox where you enter that code to get your key to get into the room all of that takes a very long time and it feels more like a Airbnb rental than an actual hotel. The bar has no drinks to sell and we soon found out in the town that the hotel has recently shut down and reopened under new ownership. My hunch would be the new owners have never run a hotel before.

Great location for walking to Cowes centre and for the chain ferry to East Cowes. Comfortable room although very hot and impossible to turn the one radiator (in bedroom) off. Decent breakfast although some of the cooked items could have been hotter. Overall I would recommend and be happy to stay again.

We booked 2 sea view rooms for 3 nights. Only one room had a sea view and the bathroom in that room had black mould around the ceiling. The other room had a very old mattress and the bedding was old and thin. The pillows in that room were flat. We checked out after 1 night and will not be back. Whilst the staff were friendly, this hotel needs refurbishment, new mattresses, new duvets, pillows, blankets and linen. Mould is injurious to health and no hotel of the calibre that this hotel claims to be should have it.

It’s ok, needs updating. Most staff friendly, only let down by a couple. Room with sea view… only just!, over looking ugly roof. Food mediocre but hot. Probably wouldn’t recommend unless updated.

The room was very spacious with comfortable beds and a good shower and the area was quiet at night. The choice of breakfasts was excellent and the view from the restaurant was an added bonus.

Very nice breakfast. Only complaint was that the shower in my room didn't have any hot water coming out of it.

Friendly and helpful receptionist. Very professional approach by not shouting out the room number but just giving the key cards - excellent. Dinner was also excellent with good service. Room very comfortable. Not much of a view but no complaints.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is kept clean and tidy, the staff is excellent and friendly. The property offers a quiet location to visit neighbourhoods and main attractions nearby.

We Stayed in Room 9 (ground floor), very noisy room, lots of noise above and to the side of the room, terrible nights sleep. Bed was hard, the bathroom and hotel in general looked like it was still back in the 80’s. My advice, stay elsewhere!

Very comfortable and enjoyable weekend, staff knew their role and responsibilities and worked as a team to make our stay perfect
