Nice hotel a few miles from motorway in very rural setting. You can hear the motorway outside but hotel has good sound proofing. Nice pool that can be booked online for adult swim sessions (up to 4 people at a time) or family sessions. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is well maintained and I note that the annex is being upgraded. New bathroom decor, roof repairs and USB sockets in power sockets in the bedroom I was in this time. The buffet breakfast is also good.

Two rooms were booked, both standard twin only to be told when we got there that the booking was for two single rooms and I’d have to take the matter up with Expedia. After showing the booking on my phone the hotel met me halfway and gave me one twin, which my mum took and I had what can only be described as a box room. I’ve never stayed in such a tiny room, I had two steps to the door and four to the bathroom. The bed was one of the worse beds I’ve ever slept in. Don’t go by the photos on the web site, those are premium rooms, the rooms I booked were tried and dated. The reception team were nice as was the manager. The cleaning of the rooms was poor to the point were we both did it ourselves. On our second night the power went out in the whole hotel for about an hour without any explanation. The breakfast is quite good and the choice was good, again the service in the restraint was poor. Overall I was disappointed with my stay and probably wouldn’t book a great western hotel again.

I’ve wanted to stay at the Webbington for years. Every time I’ve driven past on the M5 I’ve looked across and wondered what it was like. My dad was mildly annoyed when I told him we’d finally stayed — apparently I’ve beaten him to it after about 60 years of meaning to go! Fate eventually brought us here when my wife became unwell while we were travelling home and we decided it was much more sensible to stop for the night. The hotel is an eclectic mix of old and new. It’s a little tired in places, but we expected that and honestly just leaned into it. There’s a traditional British charm to the place, helped enormously by the staff, who were warm, friendly and welcoming throughout. Our room was pleasant and the bed very comfortable. We had good views across the Somerset countryside, although slightly compromised by the flat roof immediately below us! The bar terrace, though, has lovely open views towards Brean Down. The leisure facilities were a real surprise. The gym is dated but very well equipped, while the steam room was insanely hot — exactly as it should be — and the sauna was excellent too. There’s just something about the Webbington. It isn’t polished modern luxury, but it has its own slightly eccentric character and a charm I can’t quite explain. We’ll definitely be back — hopefully under better circumstances next time!

Old listed building with old rooms... it is a classic "charming" hotel... which means, a bit old, a bit tired.. The room was basic and comfortable. The gym is good but the pool has to be prebooked which is not helpful. Was not told the restaurant closed at 08.30 so did not eat, which made me grumpy!

Breakfast was very good all nice and hot. Unfortunately the room still had rubbish in it from previous occupants. The shower had more water coming out the bath taps than the shower head! All staff were very helpful and friendly

Check in very slow and after travelling 3 hours with elderly disabled parents, our room was not ready, which is understandable. But the only offer to get changed for a wedding was in the changing rooms a flight of stairs down or the toilets! The girl on reception was adamant there wasn’t any other option available and was very unconcerned of the needs for my disabled mother. Breakfast the next morning was also very poor and hardly any hot food left on the buffet. The disable room wet room was really bad, the water did not drain away and this explained the musty smell in the room, the water was far to hot also. The rooms are in need of a refurbishment.

A beautiful hotel set in the hills. The room and facilities are good for the money. You also have access to the pool and decently equipped gym which is available throughout your stay. My room unfortunately had rubbish left under my desk but it wasn't the end of the world. As well as some light fittings not functioning. I'd say the decor also needs updating in the rooms as they do look a bit tired. I would advise avoiding this place during anything above 30'c. The rooms are not supplied with a fan or air conditioning, so sleeping is neigh on impossible due to heat. The breakfast was okay but not the best quality with limited options outside a cooked breakfast.

A nice Edwardian hotel with many Victorian gothic features. Well maintained and undated. Lots of shaded parking available. Nice swimming pool that can be booked in units of 30 minute sessions for lane swimming (over 14's only) during morning and evening sessions limited to 4 swimmers, or the alternative family fun sessions. The steam room and sauna are the other side of the complex from the pool within the gym- unusual setup but nice facilities. I was upgraded to a larger period room that was very spacious and elegant with a nice view of the plain stretching to the Bristol channel. It was cripplingly hot outside, but the room was moderately cool. Even so, it was better when the fan that reception offered was installed. Thanks to the reception team! The hotel has a patio with a wonderful view looking out onto the plain where drinks and food can be served. Although it is a little off the motorway, about 15 minutes, I really like this hotel and have stayed here over five times in the last year. Reasonable priced in a quiet and beautiful location, even though the motorway passes within a mile you hardly notice it unless you look for it. Final note avoid GPS recommendations to go through the little villages and lanes Google says it is quicker but takes twice the time! Follow the hotel advice and keep on the A roads until you see the Webbington/brown tourist hotel sign.

I have nothing but praise for my stay here. The staff were absolutely wonderful, right from arrival. The food I ordered was gorgeous, I had a simple fish and chips that was top notch. I did book a spa treatment, which was so relaxing and the staff really put me at ease (it was my first ever massage). There are a lot of steps to get around there building, personally I didn't mind, but it is something to keep in mind.

Its an okay hotel, was probably good in its prime but is a little dated now. Did the job for 1 night, wouldn't stay here for more than that. Breakfast was okay, again did the job but not the best.

Lovely room, with large bed. We have stayed in this hotel lots of times before but we have never had as nice of bed as we had this time. It was a lovely surprise. Breakfast great as usual.

No lift lots of stairs and corridors room small no colour, spa not very assessable as you have to go through the gym no gowns provided. Staff were polite and helpful breakfast ok quite a bit of choice Bar expensive no entertainment so very quite if u want that then good parking ok Good view wouldn’t visit again due to no lift and small rooms but dated

Can't fault the lovely friendly staff. Breakfast was as expected but lacked gluten free options. Rooms were in need of refurbishment but beds were comfy and great tv options along with good and free WiFi. Also plenty of free parking for guests.

A really nice hotel with very nice staff. The spa facilities are excellent. The thing that lets it down a bit is the poor maintenance standards - it has been allowed to get a bit dated in some places and some drainpipes were spilling out onto the wall rather than a drain etc. This wouldn't prevent me from recommending it but I want to set a realistic expectation and to encourage the owners to invest in this lovely hotel. It is adjacent to woodland walks, so great for dog walks. The breakfast was nice although perhaps slightly old fashioned. eg. a woman was complaining that the glasses for juice were really small, which used to be the norm but people object now. It didn't bother me but it does typify that the place sometimes was a little old fashioned. If they updated it even a bit, it could be seen as a very luxurious place, as it is lovely.
