We immediately felt welcomed at reception and first overall impression was great. Car park right in front of the main door. Outside looks pretty and well maintained. One of our rooms was upgraded to balcony. And they are worth the extra charge. Ok interior is a bit dated, but everything was clean and in order. But same interior made the whole place instantly feel cosy, comfortable and homely. Food was exceptional. There are also lots of seating areas with couches or chairs to sit and converse or play games. The spa is located in-house. Hence easy to get to, need to book in advance. Pool area also neat and clean with about 4 saunas and steam bath. We would immediately go back again. PS there is a hotel golf course as well and in Winter toboggan and ski runs...

The surrounding area is really nice. There's a playground, stable with ponies, golf,... The hotel is like a time machine. It's old, smells damp, and is a bit mouldy. I wanted to open all the windows! The rooms are... not nice. I don't mind old interior as long as it's clean and the mattress is good. Both weren't the case. They tried fixing the matress with a topper, which made it even worse. The food is plenty and quite greasy. It feels like they used to be a good hotel, stopped investing, and still believe they are amazing. The outside area, for example, is really nice apart from all the things that are broken. 1 out of 4 ketcars is working, and the swings are broken. There is dogwaste on the playground. The indoor swimming pool is great! Clean and really nice! The sauna as well. The staff in the restaurant is really really nice!!!! One lady at the reception as well. They are friendly and really try to help and to be there. Sadly, the owners are very present, and they definitely select who's worth talking or even greeting to. Sad! Won't stay here again! Don't advise you do. Unless you know the owners. Sure, you'll have a great time then.

Great food, lots of stuff for the kids to do (the waterside is fantastic!), ked cars, riding! Playground. Nice sauna area. The rooms are comfortable and clean, great bar downstairs (the mens room has a “vomitorium”)- perfect for our large group (14 adults, 13 kids from 0-11 years). Staff was friendly and relaxed.

Friendly reception, upon arrival they upgraded room to superior. Room very spacious and nice but bathroom small. Friendly and professional staff. Good food, either day menu or a la carte. The friendly cook even managed to serve me wild game (Rehkeule and Hischbraten) outside the menu. And plenty good wines. What more do you want. Generously sized swimming pool and several sauna facilities (Turkish steam bath, Finnish saunas and infrared cabins). However, floor gets dangerously slippery when wet (allegedly due to covid-prescribed cleaning material). All in all excellent hotel. And all that for reasonable prices, certainly compared to excessive prices in Dutch horeca. Good starting point for wonderful hiking in surrounding hills of hoch Sauerland.

Located on nice and peacefull contryside. Quite clean rooms and otherwise clean hotel. Unfortunately there is no small grocery store in walking distance. There seems to be guite large golf course during summer, but I have not experience with it.
