Beautiful property but the interior design was strange and I did find a toe nail clipping on the floor of our bedroom.

Extremely Disappointing for a 4-Star Property We booked Le Palais d’Aglaé for our honeymoon, expecting a charming and relaxing escape with beautiful valley views. Unfortunately, what we received was a subpar experience that didn’t reflect a 4-star standard in service, hospitality, or comfort. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was far from welcoming, offering little assistance and a noticeably dismissive attitude. When we inquired about our room — which was supposed to have a valley view — we were instead given a room with two trees and a wall view (see attached photo). When we addressed the issue, we were told the hotel was full. However, rooms were still showing as available online, both on the hotel’s official site and on Expedia. Even after an Expedia representative called the hotel on our behalf, the staff refused to help or offer alternatives. To make matters worse, we were met with cold stares every time we passed the reception — not something any guest should experience, let alone during a honeymoon. The room itself felt like a dungeon, with minimal natural light and no ambiance — completely unsuitable for a romantic trip. Breakfast was equally disappointing. It was poorly organized, with missing utensils, almost no cooked food, and limited options (mostly pastries, bottled juice, and yogurt). We travel frequently, and this has been one of the most disappointing stays in France. The hotel is overpriced, overhyped. Would not recommend — we truly regret choosing

The hotel is set on a hillside with beautiful views of the Provence countryside from some room windows and from the pool and grounds. Everything is made of old stone and the rooms feel so luxurious I was astonished I could afford a room. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It is a little bit of a walk from Gordes, but we drove our car halfway to the town and used the roadside parking, and the walk the rest of the way was not too bad.

Great view and client attn. but, wish they had told us no restaurant was open before we arrived on a tuesday. Since the hotel is remote that info would have helped. Similarly, a mini bar or at least ice would make the stay comfortable. the bikes was a great option.

This property is amazing, as is the breathtaking, 11th century hill town of Gordes, just a few km down the road. The setting is beautifully romantic, the linens super-soft, the toiletries yummy, and the service just impecable.Truly a four-star experience. We wished we had booked for at least another night so we could just stay on the grounds and relax. We did not eat at the restaurant, which was a bit pricey and had virtually no options for my vegetarian husband, but the cocktails were perfect and I image the food is too. We wished we had time for spa treatments, which were actually quite reasonably priced. The room was not large, but was well-appointed, and the wifi leaves something to be desired, but in a way that just discouraged us from lingering online rather than enjoying the divine setting anyway.

This is absolutely the most gorgeous view I have ever had from a hotel overlooks the valley beneath Gordes. We had the beautiful outdoor space room that gave us about 130 degree view and windows opened widely. The staff was very friendly, the dinner at the restaurant was marvelous. I cannot wait to return

We did not have a pleasant stay here. The air conditioner was broken in our room, so it was 33 degrees Celsius for the duration of our stay. The staff did not offer anything besides one floor fan (and after we complained to hotels.com, a bottle of wine and 15 percent off). As a result of the heat issue it was a pretty miserable stay and I felt the staff was not understanding/did not do enough to accommodate us for this issue.

Gorgeous view from the hotel and pool area. There was a bar by the pool, but it was not staffed and it wasn’t self serve. Also, on one of the days the hotel restaurant was closed. We were unable to get breakfast or lunch at the hotel. The hotel said we were supposed to have received an email notification of the closure, but we did not. Perhaps this was because we booked through Expedia and not directly with the hotel.

We arrived late on a Wednesday evening and had a lovely bottle of wine in our room. The view from the terrace was absolutely fantastic-beautiful country!! Then we had a lovely 3 course dinner. The staff was so very friendly and helpful and the rooms were elegant and very clean! Included breakfast was delightful! Our stay could not have been better! Thank you!

Very lovely staff were so helpful in helping us check in and in helping us find a hotel for the next evening in our next town when we realized we had issues with our reservation. The room, the dining room, terraces, pool, grounds were all perfect. Great view from everywhere. Our car got stuck when we reversed in a bad spot and the chef and assistant smartly got the car on its way. Easter sunday there, they put dozens of bagged chocolate Easter eggs all over the terrace for us to find. Lovely staff that cares to do a little extra. Definatly recommend and will definitely try to return. One tip, if you drive through Gordes to get to the hotel, Google Maps indicated the location incorrectly. The hotel is actually located after you pass the leaving Gordes sign, (about 2km up the hill from the city circle on the right). There is a sign on hotel entrance.
