The room was clean, breakfast was okay, they even had hot pot, the braised pork with rice was delicious. The rooms aren't very soundproof, but the hotel atmosphere is nice and the staff are polite.

I like the style of the hotel, and it's value for money. Breakfast is really good. Opposite also have a good Japanese restaurant. Been staying here a few times already.

The location is great, close to the night market, 10 minutes to Ximen exit 6, and there's also a Seven-Eleven across the street. The place is spacious and the hallways are cool.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Taipei! The location was super convenient — close to public transport, night markets, and lots of great food options. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with directions or recommendations. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the thoughtful little touches like complimentary water, toiletries, and a comfy bed after long days of exploring the city. Highly recommended for solo travelers or anyone looking for a relaxing, well-located place to stay in Taipei. I’d definitely come back!

All good, clean. The only downside is the room arrangement is like a labyrinth. Check the room map on your door.

In the lobby there is a display of a ship's steering wheel, there is no "do not touch" logo, my child was playing there then the receptionist shouted and got angry from behind the bar (reception desk) while pointing with her index finger, if she wanted to remind us, she should have spoken nicely, not shouted while pointing.

The pillow is too thin, but over all is good. But no mineral water refill, so you have to buy in the convinience store nearby the hotel.

I have mixed feelings during my stayed, the hotel location was great and easy access to Ximending. Regarding the room, it was clean however my room got the stinky smell from the toilet drain hole thus it wasn’t a pleasure experience to me, I don’t feel wanna stay even longer inside my room… Regarding the room size, it’s fine and just enough for solo traveller, if you have have more than 2 luggage, the room will be very packed. And the Wi-Fi in my room was very poor, I have to use my cellular data most of the time.

Location is the best! Just a few steps to Ximending walking district. Many restaurants, shops, and convenience stores are open until late at night. The room is okay, not too big but not too small. You get what you pay for. It's a nice place just for sleep only, otherwise you'll get cramped and claustrophobic because there's no window in the room 😂 But I would still recommend this hotel to everyone because of the perfect location and price-wise.

Stayed 6 nights at Hotel Papa Whale and had a good experience: Self check-in, easy and fast. The staff were helpful and friendly also. The unit is very clean and has a nice design, plus it's comfortable. From the hotel to XiMenDing station, it's about an 8-minute walk, not too far.

The hotel's light was pretty dark and worked kind of weird for me. However, the price was really good so I won't expect much.

The location is good, but you have to walk a bit if you want to go to the MRT, but it's not too far. The room is clean. There's a housekeeper who comes to clean the room every day. She's attentive, judging from the arrangement of things. The water in the bathroom is very strong. I like it. We stay in the basement. The room isn't soundproof and the school's wifi isn't there, but the bed is comfortable. Overall, it's considered okay.

Pros: Good location, safe and quiet room, high quality pillow and bed. Cons: Weak Wi-Fi connection, towels are smelly with clo.
