Walking distances to most sight seeing point. Hotel closing time is 10 pm which was a bit unreasonable.

The breakfast in private tatami room was very nice and the staff service was excellent

Generally a good stay in a great location. On our last morning, we had to leave at 6:00 am to catch a flight. We were told breakfast started at 7:00 am and so we would not get anything (impossible) however I find it surprising in a country where the bento lunch box is such an institution, nothing could be done the night before to accommodate us with some sort of breakfast. After all it was almost $ 300 a night to stay and I would have thought the management would make some effort.

Lovely traditional Ryokan staff very welcoming and patient and willing to explain everything to us. Dinner and breakfast were served Japanese style and staff serving carefully explained each course to us. Location is a brief 10 minute walk to Nara Park with all the historical sites.
