I stayed at the Garden Riviera Hotel from Thursday to Monday and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional throughout our stay. The breakfast waiters were so friendly and attentive every morning, and the staff during check-in and check-out made everything smooth and welcoming. The cleaners were also incredibly kind and always did a fantastic job. We interacted with three different people at the front desk during our stay, and every single one of them was amazing — always happy to help with any questions or requests and always greeting us with a smile. The free shuttle bus to Santa Maria was a huge help as well, especially since it left the hotel every half hour, making it very convenient to get around. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area! Giacomo F.

Just a 12 minute walk from the beach at Castellabate this lovely hotel has excellent views across the coast, especially from the restaurant. We had a well equipped sea view room which was very comfortable and air conditioned. Breakfast was very good. The pool area and gardens are well kept and there is plenty of parking. Staff were all very helpful. Would certainly stay again.

Only stayed one night but it was a pleasant stay. The hotel has a beautiful entrance and terrace area at the front. Our room was clean and comfortable with a small balcony with 2 chairs and a small table , lovely since we had paid for a sea view room. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning, plenty of choice and staff very attentive to our needs. It took us about 10 minutes to walk into the small town which is straight down from the hotel (a bit of a hike coming back give the steep incline) .Found the most fantastic restaurant there Pasta e Pizza da Nello, friendly, fantastic authentic food and VERY reasonably priced.

Our second visit to this beautiful area (first stay at this hotel). The hotel is above the town with panoramic views over the town and coast. The area retains it's Italian charm with not too much of the international resort feel so worth trying out a few phrases in Italian. Many nice restaurants and bars and not overly expensive. All the staff in the hotel were friendly and attentive. Clean & comfortable rooms and public area. Good restaurant and breakfast selection. Pool, gardens and terraces are very nice areas to relax and enjoy the facilities. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed hotel which was located on a hill above small resort. Approx 1-2 miles away. Shuttle bus provided between 9-1pm and for 2 hours late afternoon. Taxis believe it or not cost 20 euros at any other time. So coming back to hotel could cost up to 40 euros minimum a day. Furious as do not like being ripped off. So as much as I enjoyed hotel would never stay again. Expedia should look into this.

Great hotel with friendly staff, good drinks and nice pool. It's close enough to walk in to town, just a bit of a struggle getting back up as it's pretty steep.

The description on the hotel website gives an impression of decadent luxury, photographs are skillfully taken leading the viewer to believe they would be stepping back in time to some Victorian Elegance worthy of the elite, the writing draws the reader into some kind of paradise, an unrivelled luxury and service. The truth is , the hotel is set in a wonderful location above the seafront town of Santa Maria surrounded by mountais, it has un paralled views due to its location and there is a sense of peace and calm away from the bustling seaside resort. Sitting on the patio above the pool with a large gin and tonic was very relaxing and for that moment one could really believe all the hype on the website. However, take a closer look - the standard rooms are not sound proofed, the 'mini bar' is just a mini fridge in which two small bottles of water were placed every morning, a double bed was two singles pushed together, there were ants in the bathroom, we left the air-con on a low setting, yet whenever we returned to the room after our day out it had been turned off. The breakfast buffet was average, cold scrambled eggs and very crispy bacon , coffee from a machine, luke warm water with which to make a cup of tea, dry cakes and croissants, the hilight being the frozen yoghurt like a Mr Softee icecream! The restaurant staff were quite surly especially in the evening where we had a meal on our first night but never again due to the lack of choice and standards below expectation.

While the hotel itself was a esthetically beautiful by visual standards with an amazing location, the room amenities are in dire need of an upgrade. We were part of a wedding party that rented several rooms for a weekend and the common opinion was that the beds and pillows need to be changed asap. I have slept in cheap, cheap hostels with better sleeping conditions. Several rooms had rock hard pillows and beds where the springs could be felt easily. A 4 star hotel should be almost impeccable when it comes to maintenance. Our room did not even have curtains or black out blinds and we slept near the elevator - which means we could hear the mechanism whenever it was used - including at night. Cleanliness however does get a full score as our room was cleaned every day and the hotel was pretty clean as well. I do appreciate getting our towels changed every day, but for the sake of being environmentally aware, I would have preferred to keep the same towels during our 4 nights stay. While the hotel was very enjoyable during the day, we could not get a decent nights sleep because of the bed, the lack of sound-proofing (you could hear people talking outside and the showers/flushing in other rooms above/beside). Also, the staff barely, barely spoke English - decent English is a must if you work in the tourist industry regardless of which country your business is located in.
