We arrived first impression hotel seemed nice needs a lot of work to bring it up to a higher standard then how the advert describes it . We stayed in the back rooms away from the main hotel overlooking Bins to the front and crazy golf courses at the back which needed a good tidy up . Room was clean , but bathroom tatty not enough towels had to request more very hot room small fan given . Uncomfortable nights sleep disappointed ☹️

Driving up to the hotel it looked amazing, a beautiful building and gardens. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was a big space, let down a bit by stains on the carpet, and the furniture had stains on it. The curtains were a little tired and dusty. The windows could have done with a good clean. The paintwork and wallpaper could do with some attention. Also the cobwebs in the windows could do with being cleaned. The bed was comfy and we both slept well, the bedding was clean and fresh. The bathroom would also benefit from a thorough clean, and maybe a touch up on the sealant. My husband cleaned the shower head as a lot of the holes were blocked. Shampoo, conditioner and handsoap provided. Tea, coffee and water in the room but no little treats, like a biscuit with my tea :-). The full english breakfast was very good, staff were attentive and amenable. The breakfast room again needs a thorough clean as where ever we looked there was dust and cobwebs. Overall I felt for a luxury room and the money paid, (we don't normally pay this amount for a room but it was a treat for my birthday), it lacked a bit of finesse.

Nice place to stay. Bit dated in places but the room was spacious and clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Loads of parking. Breakfast wasn’t served till 0730 and I needed to be out by then so I was disappointed by that. Room was super warm so it was nice to see they had included a fan in the room which helped a bit.

The hotel is set in lovely surroundings and has a very attractive appearance. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, which made for a pleasant experience. Needs Improving: The hotel could benefit from some updating. The floorboards were peeling in places and creaked quite a bit when walking around. The railings felt wobbly, which raised some safety concerns. There was no hand towel rail in the bathroom, the TV was quite small, and the room did not have air conditioning. Overall, considering the facilities and condition of the room, we didn’t feel it offered good value for money.

Great stay in the basement room apartment. Room was bigger than expected and well equipped. Wish we had booked 2 nights here instead of 1

We stayed during the recent heatwave and were put in rooms at the top of the main building which were unbearably hot. The windows could not be opened fully and the small fans were ineffective. I was surprised that the hotel would even suggest putting residents in these rooms without taking action to cool them down - they were unreasonably hot. We also had dogs with us and could not have had them in the room for any significant period without it being dangerous to their health. I complained as we went to dinner (we had arrived at around 7.30 pm) Kieran in reception seemed surprised that I had a serious issue with the situation and was uncertain what action to take. Fortunately we mentioned it to Kelsey in the restaurant who leapt into action and arranged to take two air conditioning units out of the "pods" in the garden and move them up to the rooms. By the time we had eaten the room temperature had dropped to a more manageable level. I do not think the we would have been able to stay at the hotel if Kelsey had not taken action to resolve the situation. She was a star. Our meal was excellent, and overall it was a good stay.

No air con in the rooms. Hottest day of the year and only 1 small fan to manage. Service was brilliant though, food was great! Would stay again but not in the summer even though the grounds were stunning for a summer evening walk. Sleep in the room was poor, windows did not open properly either to allow air flow

Beautiful historic mansion. We walked thru nearby parks to the riverfront for lunch. The outdoor restaurant at Orange Grove was very pleasant for an evening dinner and happy hour. The admiral lounge is very comfortable while waiting for pickup to go to the airport or cruise ships.

The staff were absolutely amazing and couldn't have been more helpful. The building is fine but needs refurbishment. The breakfast was delicious and the gardens very attractive.

Booked "dog-friendly room" (it's handy to have that description in the room information when booking as otherwise I'd ring the hotel before booking to check if dogs are ok in room we're booking, so thanks for that). Note that £30pn is charged on top of room rate for a dog. It was a premium room, so had a lounge area with tv (Disney etc) & separate bedroom area. All very clean and comfy. Keiran was very welcoming on reception and offered to book us in for breakfast. We arrived late and no food was available after 9pm which was ok as we'd popped into a supermarket nearby on the way. Slept well until the groundsman woke us up strimming the grass outside our window at 8.30am, however we enjoyed our stay so much we booked a 2nd night. Hotel is extremely dog friendly as are welcome in 2 areas of breakfast/restaurant rooms and in the bar. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Bar closed at 9.30 one night when we went for a night-cap but they did open to serve a drink to take back to the room. Lovely grounds so plenty of walking from the door. We paid £15 on to the bill for breakfast (hot drink, juice, one choice from menu). Full English & veggie version were freshly cooked and very tasty . We'll stay again if we get the chance.

The hotel was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful! It's really hard to find a dog friendly hotel that are so relaxed about actually bringing dogs! Especially as our puppy is a big boy and sometimes, due to his bread, people are cautious of him. But the hotel were great and didn't make us feel nervous or "in the way" at all. It was a lovely stay.

It's a very old building with only stairs but staff was more than pleasant adverse helpful. They bought our luggage up to our room and then even brought it back down I highly recommend this place.
