Kittiwake House was an excellent place to stay in Port Erin and a very convenient base for exploring all of Isle of Man. There's so much within a short walk (Tesco, restaurants, takeaway, The Isle of Man Railway, etc) that a handier location is hard to imagine. The view over the strand to the bay and surrounding cliffs is magnificent. The flat makes a nice home away from home for all the needs and comforts during travel, and we appreciated being able to spread out and eat at home for some meals. One temporary challenge we had was that parking is on-street parking that, while free, isn't always available. We arrived during a beautiful beach day, and all nearby street parking was occupied. We had to begin sightseeing straightaway and return later in the day when people began leaving the beach. Overall, great holiday!

Lovely property, stunning views over the sea. Small lounge diner but large bedrooms. Beds very comfortable. Only downside was having to put coins in the meter and having to keep an eye on it. If the boiler for water isn’t left on the meter lasted much longer and the water stayed hot for the day. Heating is manual electric so cold in mornings until it heats up. Wouldn’t be a problem in the summer. I would definitely stay again, especially as I know what to expect with the coin meter and heating.

We were a party of 4 adults and it was more than adequate for us. Quick check in. Well equipped. Great value. Comfy beds. Hot water and good shower. Welcome pack very much appreciated. Great views of the bay from both bedrooms. We stayed apt. 4 Called Shearwater. Only three comfy seats in lounge area but we got a chair from the bedroom which was no problem. It is an electric meter and we only used £5 in three days. Didn’t use heaters though. Great location for town and walks.

A fine place to stay. Not fancy nor particularly clean but fine and ‘decent’ value for money. Was not told until I received an email 24hours prior to arriving that there was an electric meter. Never have I stayed anywhere and had to pay to have the lights on! If that’s not bad enough, it’s mid February and the only heating is electric too. So if you don’t want to have a miserable time, then you have to pay more! £18 over 2 days and we weren’t even there during the days! And that was barely warm enough! It flies through money and the worst thing is that it’s not advertised at all! Mis advertising at it’s finest!!! Would I stay again? No, I’ll go elsewhere and pay the extra £20 to stay somewhere cleaner, warmer and nicer. Shocking behaviour!

Nothing exceptional to like, however dislike finding out on route to property that we have to feed an electric meter adding another £35 to the cost of our stay.

Location is amazing. Flat is dated and not in the best of conditions but it was value for money and had all we need. I don’t think that 4 adults would be comfortable there but for two of us it was fine.

The location is superb, the room was clean. There was no communication with the owners or manager. We didn’t know who or where they were. We did expect more in the room; for example, one dish towel only, two garbage bags, salt but no pepper, mismatched plastic hangers from purchased clothing... One heater didn’t work. The beds were surprisingly comfortable.

The weekend stay in the delightful Shearwater Apartment was an absolute tonic. A wonderful place to stay for a short or longer stay with breathtaking views across the bay.

You get what you pay for! Budget to pay an extra £12-20 per day for electricity. Despite it being 8-10°c it was very cold in the apartment, which is heated by individual electric wall heaters, these proved expensive to run and we ran out of £1's during the first night and woke up freezing. We put £25 in the metre for a two night stay and only used the heating, kettle and shower! And that was being careful! Expect to pay more if you want to cook, etc. Apartment was dated and tired. Good bit was the size, plenty of room for our family of two adults and two children.

We booked a two bedroomed apartment which was on the top floor approximately 40 steps up. The apartment was very clean and had everything that we needed for our stay, including washing machine. The caretaker was not at home when we arrived on the Sunday teatime but a call to the owner revealed that the apartment had been left unlocked for us to enter. A fresh pint of milk had been left and there were some tea bags, coffee and biscuits too. The bath was quite small and uncomfortable but the shower was fine. There was an electric meter in place but in our two day stay we only put a pound in, although we didn't use the heating. The apartment that we were in faced to the rear of the property and so had no view but those to the front would have had great views of the coast. The location was excellent for Port Erin.
