Great friendly and ckean

The staff was lovely. The apartment itself was nice, including the beds I do need to point out that that main area (kitchen, lounge, dining area) is all tiled - the very hard and slippery type of tiles, which was not ideal at all for young kids as its dangerous. The other issues with the tiles is they were FREEZING, we visited during june, and we had to crank the heatpump up so high to try and keep warm. So if you're planning on spending time in the 2 bedroom unit - I'd choose somewhere that has carpet for a more comfortable stay

On a main road. Bit noisy at night

We chose this motel for its proximity to the train station, so it's slightly far from the main shopping/dining area. However, the room is fantastic with full amenities. The staff was very nice as well, giving us a room that was ready even though we arrived 4 hours before check-in time.

The unit is very cold, the tiles in the living area don’t help. Really needs underfloor heating or a rug. 1 two seater couch that was very uncomfortable and the beds were very hard and uncomfortable too :( Looks nice and clean, but just not comfortable for us sorry.

Standard clean and decent motel at a good price. Only downside was reception being shut when we arrived in the later evening in pouring rain.

I loved how clean was our room, quiet, spacious. Happy with all of that, easy check-in... Perfect! But, Our shower head fell over and broke with no reason so when we came back to the room and noticed was already late(Saturday around 11pm) and they couldn't replace shower head or offer another room as service was already far away from the hotel. So, there was no shower for us and an early sign out in the morning as we had to reach home far North to Waikato.

Stayed one night after arriving on the scenic train, walking distance from the station. Top quality apartments finished to a really good standard and spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen area and beautiful bathroom. Easy walk to the Westfield shopping centre for everything you could need.

Would definitely stay here again

The room was updated and made great use of the small space. It was so well done it didn’t feel small at all! Easy walk to mall and train station.

Staff was very kind, rooms were very clean and comfortable. Close walk to Apollo Stadium and access to airport.

Excellent however wifi a little patchy

We arrived at motel after 6pm, and got in the room directly following the motel’s email instructions. Everything went smoothly without any issues. The room is spacious and very clean with a well equipped kitchen although we did not really use it. Our one night stay was very comfortable. Highly recommended!

Was very pleased that the accommodation is very clean and tidy. Great location to the Christchurch Train Station which is about 10 minutes walking distance. Had a wonderful stay. Thank you

This property was absolutely superb, fantastic rooms, lovely smell from diffusers, everywhere was clean. Parking great, check out was easy.

The Golden Star hotel is it within walking distance of the train station. It's located in a commercial area, but we were extremely happy with the hotel itself. It was very clean and comfortable. The manager was extremely proactive and took care of the issues we were having which were very minor. I highly recommend this hotel.
