My adult daughter and I stayed one night here. The experience was extremely uncomfortable. The nighttime manager was friendly and took our bags, but he led us through 10 minutes of crowded, chaotic medina alleys full of men lingering around, mopeds brushing past, and one man approaching us aggressively. Inside, the riad looked pleasant at first glance, but a strong damp, musty smell hit immediately. The manager mentioned recent courtyard construction, and dust from that work was still everywhere. The riad didn’t match the photos; the design was decent, but many finishes were shoddy. Our room had visible dirt, an old shower drain full of hair, a loose faucet, cracking plaster, and ground‑up cement or sanding dust in the bathroom hardware. It was freezing, the heat didn’t work, there was a faint smell of cat urine, and our request for a blanket went unanswered. The nighttime manager said he’d issue a refund but was unreachable when Hotels.com called and wasn’t there the next morning. The daytime manager however was excellent—kind, professional, and proactive. He contacted the nighttime manager directly so the situation could be corrected and our full nonrefundable stay was refunded. The conditions in the riad itself were simply untenable.

The place is beautiful, the staff is friendly and always willing to help. The fireplace was amazing in winter. The bed was not the most comfortable and that’s why the 4 stars and not 5. Good location. Walkable to the souk, medina and everything. The airport transfer was really reassuring with the hotel staff walking us to the van.

While the staff & the mgt’s attitude to the service quality was excellent, the location of the property & the accessibility has major issues. About 500 m walk on uneven surface, through crowded, dirty & confusing allies from taxi drop off point to the hotel is just not an ideal for a tourist in a new place. Particularly in the evening when dark felt very unsafe walking around. I am surprised these issues were not highlighted by previous travellers.

This is a lovely, traditional Riad in the heart of the Medina. It is very conveniently located and walking distance to the main square, several museums/attractions, and many great eateries. Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The room itself was beautifully decorated and was very clean. Breakfast was freshly prepared daily. The air conditioning in the room was not the best and we were there during very hot time. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this property for anyone visiting Marrakech and wanting a wonderful, authentic experience!

The staff was very nice, accommodating and helpful. Once you’re in the room the WiFi is horrible and our bathroom has hair still in the shower. However, I believe it was a honest mistake and was missed. I still would recommend

Staff were very helpful. Always enthusiastic and will to offer advice or assistance. I’d highly recommend talking directly to Riad for travel arrangements coming to and from accommodation. Unfortunately we didn’t and finding it was near impossible. It would be beneficial if Riad contacted customers directly on booking. Accommodation was clean and restaurants nearby were excellent. An experience for sure and one I’d recommend

The hotel itself was great, the staff were amazing! They went out of their way to make us breakfast every morning and cleaned our room. Definitely recommend the breakfast and dinner! Be aware as the location of the hotel is in the Old Medina “alleys.” A taxi will drop you off about 15 minutes walking distance as there is no access by car. It is a labyrinth and typically you will need to walk through the market to get to the hotel. There is motorcyclist day and night driving through the labyrinth. The vendors can be aggressive and having to walk by everyday was exhausting. It is a great experience if you want to truly immerse yourself in the culture and their everyday life.

We stayed at Riad Capaldi for 6 nights for our first time in Marrakech and it was just beautiful. The staff were so helpful and couldn’t have done more. The place was so clean and gorgeous - breakfast was traditional and great every day. The area around the Riad is very typical Morocco, it looks a little scary but honestly is very safe and is within walking distance of absolutely everything you could need! My only improvements would be: no WiFi in the rooms and your 4G signal will not work unless you are on the roof terrace, so prepare for an unplugged stay! The Air Conditioning doesn’t work very well so the rooms can get hot and if you open the windows there is no privacy, so this was a little difficult. There are no rubbish bins in the rooms, but we used carrier bags and would leave them for the cleaner so maybe consider taking some with you (cleaning was so thorough, clean towels and robes every day!!) The Riad will offer you transport from the airport, which is a little expensive at 220MAD (£18/€22) but it is worth it as taxis just cannot get to the area - this way someone will help you get there with your bags. Take care getting back to the Riad at night as Google maps will try to take you through the Souks - but the doors will be shut between the streets. Instead adjust your maps to take you via car and follow the roads - a bit of a longer walk but this way you can actually get through. Highly recommend this Riad and with some minor changes it would be 10/10!

Absolutely wonderful stay at Riad Capaldi. The Moroccan hospitality was out of this world. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace every morning was delicious. Beautifully peaceful oasis in the midst of the chaotic medina.
