Very disappointing stay. The carpet in our room was filthy, with large red stains that looked like blood or wine and yellow stains near the bathroom that looked like someone had been sick. The windows were dirty, ruining the sea view. The toilet was loose and moved every time you stood up. The receptionist asked me to email photos of the issues. I sent two emails but never received a reply, despite the hotel sending marketing emails almost every day after I booked. We were promised housekeeping at 9:00 a.m., but nobody came. Instead, at 2:30 p.m., cleaners knocked twice and let themselves into our room while we were still inside. They said they knew nothing about the promised cleaning. We left the room for them, but they only cleaned the bathroom. The carpet wasn't touched, the stains remained, and the dust on the bedside table was still there. At check-out, I explained that I had to wear my shoes throughout the stay because the carpet was so dirty. The receptionist kept repeating that they were "a small family business" and that the carpets were old. That's not an excuse for poor cleanliness. The only positives were the air conditioning and the small fridge. The hotel looks nice from the outside, but inside it urgently needs a deep clean. I've never paid so much for a room in such poor condition. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Great location, excellent staff and stylish hotel.

Good location, just a short walk to the front/pier. Staff were helpful with easy check in. The hotel takes a £50 payment from a credit/debit card for any services used but anything not used is returned to you. Room was a good with a comfortable bed and a tv with usual free channels and roku stick for streaming. Great air con in room. Large clean bathroom with walk in shower. Free safe in wardrobe.

Clean and really spacious bathroom. Bedroom had good facilities including air conditioning. Location is really close to the pier and Adventure island

Thank you for a wonderful stay. I stayed with my husband and baby. Staff were so helpful, room was very clean and spacey with sea view and the hotel is in great location to the pier, Adventureland, high street and other family friendly places. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Best quality hotel in Southend by far!! I have stayed in many hotels across the world and this is my favorite. Fantastic owner, staff, food, rooms and location.

The location is excellent- very handy for the Cliffs Pavillion where we were going and also the beach and town centre. We were very lucky to get a parking space in the hotel car park which was great. We had room 103 which had a lovely view over the water. It was a sweltering hot day and the staff had thankfully put the AC on in our room which was much appreciated.

Absolutely stunning hotel with amazingly friendly staff. Great location to town & pier. The Cliff Lift is just opposite which is free, but donations welcome. We will return here.

Wonderful, smaller hotel with modern rooms and friendly staff. Our "sea view" room was ideal, with a perfect view of the sea. We did not eat at the hotel since our daughter has difficult dietary needs, but the dining room looked very special with the front open to the front of the hotel. Drinks on the patio were very welcome as were our well air-conditioned room with the surprised heat wave,

Great hotel, good location. highly recommend

Greeted by lovely and helpful staff on entry. Once in the room we were welcomed by a nice tidy place with a good view of the sea. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and all the other bits that could be needed for our stay were provided. The air conditioning was amazing and made our stay all that more perfect.

Excellent hotel in a fantastic central location. Lovely and clean with very helpful staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning at some point.

Nice location decent room but Tv is a lil dated and control was slow. The portion size food wise was a bit of a let down for me but it was decent. It may be one of the better/best hotels in the area.
