Our stay at the Victoria Hotel in Niagara Falls was extremely disappointing and far below what should be expected for the price charged.
The cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. The carpets were visibly dirty, dusty, and the entire room had a strong moldy smell. My daughter went to take a shower and the shower handle, along with the temperature control dial, completely fell off. We left the broken pieces on the side of the tub and notified the front desk immediately, yet nothing was done about it.
To make matters worse, the TV channels were not working, and staff simply blamed it on the weather rather than offering any solution or accommodation. Throughout our stay, the staff showed little concern regarding any of the issues we experienced and were not accommodating whatsoever.
We were in Niagara Falls for a dance competition, and we were not the only guests complaining. Many other families attending the same event also expressed concerns about the cleanliness and condition of their rooms.
For the price charged, this hotel is extremely overpriced and poorly maintained. I have stayed in hotels at a fraction of the cost that were significantly cleaner, more professional, and far better maintained.
Overall, this was a horrible experience and not at all what we expected. Given the condition of the room and the lack of response from management, I believe a refund is warranted.
