The communication with staff felt unclear, with limited guidance about the facilities or directions to the room. The prepaid booking was not immediately recognized, and a credit card was requested before the situation was clarified. I also called the front desk to ask about the heating, and maintenance came in afterward, which made the communication feel somewhat disjointed. Overall, the interaction gave the impression that welcoming and attentiveness were somewhat lacking, leaving guests to navigate certain details on their own.

Clean room. Only a small heater in the bathroom. Room is virtually no heat in a subzero temperatures outside!

The room is very small, and no tv , no AC . Very poor condition. Some people live in the first floor.. I will not stay there again..

We booked a superior suite on expedia, on arrival received a standard double room. We spoke with Reception and later the manager. They told us they could not move us, as the hotel was fully booked however we could move to the suite the next night ("at no extra cost", even though we had already paid a deposit for the superior suite) but had to check out and then recheck in, taking all belongings with us. The manager stated that this was the fault of expedia as well as my fault for using expedia, stating that the booking information was unclear and would not refund any portion of the room price. She told us that we had to take the complaint/refund request to expedia. She also blamed upper management for not addressing these issues with expedia stating they have had several booking complaints in the past. At no time was even an apology offered. We had to use the hidabed to accommodate us all. Other negatives - no extra bedding or coffee, dusty behind hidebed, no tea towels, no TV. Floor boards gapping. Expedia dealt with our complaint very well offering an apology and compensation. We were very happy with Expedia's response but appalled by the extremey poor customer service from the Hotel Manager. Even after expedia called the hotel, they would not compensate us or apologise. I have worked in the Hotel industry and rest assured this is not a frivolous complaint. I have never encountered such poor customer service.

Had to wash the dishes that came with the room, broken blinds, dirty floor, poor lighting. Would like to see more lights, maybe a lamp. Questionable sanitization in the shower, wall paper peeling off, door was already unlocked before putting the key in, outside deck structure was iffy at best, outside of the cabinets werent cleaned either nor were the lights. You pay good to money to stay, i understand that it is an old building which I am fine with, but I feel it's basic upkeep. My son works for a cleaning company and he said his boss would be appalled with the state of our room.

Had a fall visit for a couple days. Beautiful scenery, decent food options, excellent service everywhere and an interesting town. The room was older, but had the historical lodge feeling. Plan to attend again regularly.

Everything was good except I did not realise we had to request the room be cleaned so that was not done. However on request we got clean cups etc.

Room prices were decent, but the look of the outside of the building(including the convenient) front deck, definitely didn’t have curb appeal. Room was humid, and a shame that the nice gas fireplaces that are still there no longer function. 2 person table would be great in front of the bed, instead of attached to the wall blocking the small counter and in front of the microwave. Check in was across the road at the Kilmorey Hotel and we were told we wouldn’t get in until the exact check-in at 4pm or shortly after. Which is fine and we were told we could hangout in the lounge or the restaurant. Went to the lounge, but it wasn’t open until 4pm as well. We went to the restaurant and were seated at probably the only table that was being used that afternoon(only1 other couple in there). The table and chairs were filthy and so was the carpet in the restaurant. We were curious as to why it could be so dirty in there when it wasn’t busy. The gal serving us liked to talk to herself a lot and fix her hair in the mirror. Apparently didn’t know the beer menu as well(what was stocked and what wasn’t-was told my beer wasn’t available, but then came back with the one I ordered, but told my wife they didn’t have hers). I was brought a dirty glass for my beer as well. Wiped my beer can down and drank from the can. Definitely didn’t want to eat there after that. Even with a 10% off1 breakfast(we stayed 2 nights). Kudos to the 2-3 young ladies that had to work their butts off to clean rooms.

Great, basic property for a welcoming stay in Waterton. Easy to walk into town and close to all the activities! Very comfortable bed, has everything you need!
