Although this hotel promised to be a charmingly typical old station hotel in a city centre, it was in need of refurbishment. The room was tired and gloomy, although everything worked. Considering the price we paid, I think we would have been more comfortable at one of the big chain hotels, of which there is no shortage in the surronding streets,

Quite basic but fine for one night, and perfectly located for Gare de Lyon if like me you have an early train to catch. Lots of good bars and restaurants also within easy walking distance. The room was quiet at night (in spite of the nightlife on a weekend), and clean, which is the most important thing (bonus points for having a hard floor, much more hygienic than a carpet that probably never gets deep cleaned, like in most British hotels). I was surprised that no toiletries were supplied (apart from a bar of soap) and the bathroom was dated, but overall fine for one night, and the staff were friendly.

The room is a bit dated, but overall clean. The floorboards outside of the washroom in my room had some water damage so it was very difficult to close the washroom door. The location of the hotel is really good because it’s close to Gare de Lyon and other stations so very convenient if you need to take the subway/train. There’s also a lot of restaurants nearby, that being said, it’s not too loud at night. Staff was nice, front desk was available 24/7 so it’s good if you’re arriving late or expecting an early train. You do have to leave your key card at the front desk when you leave the hotel, but it’s not really a problem.

Very small room. I wouldn’t stay more than one night if I ever stayed there again.

I’ve stayed at hostels nicer than this hotel. Where do I begin. I wouldn’t even give this one star. 1. The hotel amenities list an in room safe - there is none. It’s a communal safe at the front desk 2. Flat screen tv - no bigger than a small computer monitor. But you could only watch it if you unplugged the fan and boiled 3. There were dirty underwear hanging in the bathroom when we checked in. We told the front desk, and nothing was done about it. They stayed there until we left because we refused to touch them 4. The bed and sheets were so uncomfortable and left both myself and my husband itchy 5. The area itself did not feel safe 6. You had to leave your key at the front desk whenever you left. We were VERY uncomfortable with this, and had to keep our luggages locked and carried our important documents on our bodies. Overall, I highly suggest you stay anywhere but here. Again, a hostel would likely have higher standards.

They just give you a bare bed (the firmest one I have ever seen in a hotel) and a key. They did not even have an extra pillow in the hotel. There is a door a key, a bed, a bathroom in OK condition. It is overpriced , too.

Cute little place just down the road from Gare de Lyon. We only stayed one night, but the staff was pleasant, the room was small, but clean and quiet, the shower was excellent (enough water pressure even in the upper floors, which is not that common in old buildings), and you’ll find the little “bistrot” for your typical french breakfast right on the way to the next Metro station (I never book breakfast, it’s mostly not worth the money and you will find much better food and a more unique atmosphere outside of your hotel, especially in Paris). IMHO the perfect place to stay, as you are not going to spend much time in your room anyway, apart from sleeping and showering.
