This hotel surpassed expectations from a service and amenities standpoint. It was easy to find and there were plenty of dining options nearby. We had a family of 6 split into 2 rooms and they were kind enough to provide 2 rooms that were beside each other for us.

Great location along the river and close to town. We walked to and from all attractions from the hotel.

Very comfortable stay. Special dinner each night amazing. We stayed for four nights and different dinners each night. Lots of nice little touches that made our stay more comfortable, like umbrellas in the foyer for use during the rain, and free tea, coffee and soft drink

Good location 20 minutes walk from station. Well sized rooms, but a little tired and needing care and attention.

We didn't realize that it was a ryokan. It was nice to have that style of room with tatami mats, sliding shoji screens etc. It backs onto a river which was nice.

My family loved our stay here. The free drink bar and dining area were great! We loved the mineral bath too. Highly recommend this hotel and village.

Great location for exploring Kiso Valley and the Nakasendo Trail. Hotel is Japanese style with Onsen and tatami rooms, but also private baths and western amenities. Great view of the local river from most or all rooms.

Hotel is about 15 minutes from train station. Check in was straight forward. Price included kaiseki dinner in dining area which features sukiyaki, tempura, sashimi and assorted appetizers. Self serve rice and miso soup. Buffwt breakfast was also included and was very good. Hotel has a public bath. Free sodas, coffee and juice available all day. Tatami room was spacious and had 2 single beds which were firm but comfortable.

This is such a unique opportunity to stay in a real Japanese household. The owner didn't speak much English but with a help of phone translation we could figure out everything. The place is a bit away so we had a person in tourist office to call and the owner picked us up and next day drop us off. We received dinner and a breakfast and food was very tasty. This is not for fancy folks but for someone who is looking for a good rest and a unique experience. You only can book it through a tourist office in town.

Our room was on the 4th floor right above the river. Sitting in the enclosed balcony was divine. We enjoyed the onsen (Japanese hot pools) and we enjoyed dinner with red wine for a very reasonable price.

A comfortable ryokan, in a great location with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Walk through the old town along the Nakasendo way, a scenic route to the hotel. A traditional Japanese breakfast presented in a calved box.

Though it is a bit far from station, the walk is worth it as it passes by some traditional houses, which we otherwise would have missed. Food and onsen is good. It is near the river so it is pleasant, Recommended.

the accommodation was good and worth the money you spent. Dinner and breakfast, in Japanese style, were copious enough and tasteful. the hostel is settled close to old Edo houses on border Kiso river and 5 min by walk from the Kozenji temple.
