The views are gourgeous as others had mentioned. Very convenient, next door to the Bom Jusus do Monte. The staff are very dedicated and caring. However the rooms are old, carpet are stained and air conditioner very noisy. It kept us awake at night. The room given to us was under the restaurant and the trash smelled very bad under the window. Our room was a odd number. Don't get any of these. Ask for even number rooms.

Comfortable room and an excellent dinner in the dining room. Helpful staff. Parking initially a bit difficult.

Unique picturesque setting at a fascinating historical pilgrimage site (World Heritage Site) on top of a mount with fantastic views away from bustling Braga. But very few options up there for coffee, tea or snacking and very expensive fine dining only. Staff sweet but largely unavailable. Quaint and charming for a very short stay. Caters mainly to large pilgrimage package tours, not to individual travellers.

Awesome location. The hotel is dated and some less important equipment is broken, but everything was clean and the staff was nice.

Our rooms had a very nice view of the city and the rooms were on the hill.

We spent two nights here. The staff was wonderful. Easy to get an Uber into the historical area. Right next to the Bom Jesus Sanctuary. Beautiful views of Braga. Great restaurant, we enjoyed the duck for dinner one evening.

Even though the hotel is old, it has what’s needed for a short stay. Every staff member is friendly and accommodating. We had an early bus and they opened the restaurant an hour earlier to ensure we ate before leaving.

Happy with this place. The price was extremely reasonable considering you step out of the hotel on to the esplanade of the Bom Jesus complex and the views from the room and breakfast room are amazing. Some previous reviewers commented on the decor needing a facelift. Yeah, but then you’d have to pay a lot more. We had a huge triple room and it was clean and perfectly acceptable. Breakfast was plenty good enough. Didn’t use any other facilities so can’t comment.

First, Hotel do Elevador is perfect location for visiting Bom Jesus with great views and a very helpful, pleasant staff. But, the condition of our room was not impressive to the extent we left a day early. The room was musky, sheets thread bare, baths showing mildew and in need of caulking, slow drainage....you get the picture. Added to that was leaf blowers just below the room windows....it just didn't work for us. Also, we didn't particularly care for the restaurant....dinner or breakfast. People have different taste and expectations...maybe my wife and I are not the best "sports" but this was clearly not 4 Star quality.

Beautiful location within the park with the htel overlooking Braga in the valley. The Bom Jesus church and religious icons right on the door step. Excellent restrauant, and very helpful staff.

This hotel is in a great location with great views, but needs some upkeep. Took almost a minute to open the door to the room with a very rickety lock and key. Room smelled musty. Beds very firm. Parking was a problem - hotel parking spaces were routinely being used by visitors to the church next door, and parking spots elsewhere on the hill were far away.

beautiful setting. Furniture a bit dated but still comfortable; the room could have used a bit of freshening up and a newer carpet but it was a great stay, after all. The location is a beautiful place and I reccomend you visit the lovely city before venturing to the hotel since it is quite a few miles away from the center of things. Enjoy the park around the Bon Jesus and use the time to get in otuch with nature. Everything in Braga is lovely!

It was great staying up by Bom Jesus, as it gave us time to enjoy it at quieter, less crowded times and in different lights...dawn, full sun, and sunset. Though Braga city was well worth visiting it felt good to be 'away from it all'. We had two good dinners from the a la carte menu, and breakfast was more than adequate, if not very hot. Staff were all helpful and friendly, parking was easy and safe and we felt the stay was excellent value. Bed was a bit on the firm side, but that's also a matter of taste. No hesitation in recommending, but do make ax dinner reservation as groups can fill the restaurant up. The pool on the nearby hotel site was an added bonus.
