Good property away from the masses. Good facilities but a pool would add. Staff friendly and helpful. Food good.

It‘s an event location. First, the nice outdoor spots were all blocked for a wedding and then a business event. Dinner was ok, but kitchen staff clearly overwhelmed by all the events going on plus serving hotel guests. Staff was very nice and friendly. But don’t go there for a romantic weekend. Rooms are high-priced, Spa nothing special. Rooms are renovated, our bathroom not however. Worst: We heard party music from the wedding until almost 2am in our garden-view room. In a drawer there were 2 packs of earplugs and a note that said, In case you hear ghosts roaming around in the castle. We‘ll, the humor was lost on me since we spent a lot of money there (dinner too). Sorry, that‘s a no go for such an establishment.

My experience in the hotel was not good. They asked me to wait 2 hours to get my room ready and they didn't inform me when it was ready. Also, I didn't get the room I've booked. If you don't have a Swiss mobile number it will take you time to be connected to the Wifi. It's a 4 stars hotel, so they should provide you with a free public transportation card, but they did not. Though, they charge me with a tourism tax. There's nobody to help you at the SPA. Though, they charge me a resort tax including the SPA use. There's no mini bar in the room. I could not sleep on the weekend as they was a wedding in the hall right under my room.

The setting of this hotel is excellent and less than 30 min away from Bern. Its very peaceful at night and the people warm, hospitable and so kind. We took our 5 month baby there and genuinely enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Bern or simply wants to get away for arms peaceful time. Congratulations to all the people of the hotel. Great job! We walked outside in the beautiful open park and enjoyed watching the cows from the nearby meadow.

Great place

This property is a hidden gem! The grounds frame a hotel that is a unique blend of the very old and the very best of what is new. Our "castle" room transported us back centuries. The authentic old key was the perfect prelude to a room that was simple yet elegant. We slept as we have never slept before underneath an exquisite hand painted ceiling. The room was quiet with gorgeous garden views and a luxurious bathroom with deep soaking tub. The staff was marvelous and helped with even the smallest request or detail. The were sharp as well as polite and it was very obvious they were concerned that each person's stay be ideal. The breakfast was presented in an artful way with a generous selection of cheeses, meats, cereal, juice, breads and an unbelievable fully automated coffee factory! We will be back. I just hope soon enough.
