We had a really lovely stay at Riad Altair. Couldn't really fault the property. Abdul was an absolute delight and such a lovely first impression, as were the whole staff who were all so friendly and helpful. The room was nice and comfortable, and the morning breakfast was tasty. They make eggs to order. I guess my 4-star rating probably comes down to value for money, as we paid close to $250 AUD a night, and I'm not quite sure it was worth that. Not quite sure we got bang for our buck, but maybe this is just Marrakech prices.

Absolutely the most wonderful staff and people we have had the pleasure to spend time with. Could not ask for a more beautiful atmosphere nor a more caring and accommodating compliment of staff. We, as a group, all travel frequently. And not a one of us has ever had a more wonderful experience. Absolutely our pleasure to have enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Riad Altair was truly one of the most enjoyable and welcoming stays we've ever had the pleasure to experience. All of the staff went above and beyond the call to be friendly, welcoming and helpful to our large, and frequently disorganized family, with Abdul even going so far as running out personally to procure a special childhood treat of my elderly father in law, when he learned that we had not yet managed to locate it on our own. The cleanliness and the smell of orange blossom a soothing treat to the senses. Many in our group are frequent travelers and all agree that this was one of the most wonderful accommodations that we've enjoyed. Add to that the staff, the friendliness and family and this was by far the beyond compare. Thank you to all for making everyone feel so welcome and at home.

Two stars are deducted from the 5 the property should deserve, for two things. 1) Wrong information in the description, for example: calling the public jacuzzi, a pool; or saying that there is parking on site, to get there you have to walk for more than 150 m of pedestrian alleys, from the nearest street, it is impossible to have “parking on site”. 2) Lack of service policy. Although the staff is kind, the Riad does not think about the client. I share our experience. As soon as we booked, they wrote us offering transportation, we replied telling them we were have car. They never told us the street that goes close to the Riad is close, has been on repair for two months ago, it was impossible to get close by car. I left the car and my wife at 800 m from the Riad went to ask for help, luckily, I found Abdou who help us, they should have warned us about the situation, a set a meeting point. The night before leaving they asked us to pay local taxes and consumption, but they do have cards. Shorting the customer of local currency just before leaving is irresponsible, even more if you have to pay $420 Dirhams (+U$40) for two days.

Lovely riad, well decorated in great condition. Staff were friendly, gracious and hospitable. Only minor improvement could be having a full shower, instead of moveable bath nozzle that you have to hold while bathing.

Outstanding experience for us as a couple staying for 4 nights. It was such a pleasant experience for us that we will remember this for long time. The location is great and the staff are so helpful, polite that they add so much value to the overall great experience. The breakfast is excellent and dinner is outstanding. Arranged transport from/to airport without any problem and two 'day long tours' via the Riad - which turned out to be excellent too.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Transfer taxi waiting for us and room just as pictured. The staff were available 24/7 and service fantastic. Just two small gripes: the pillows were not great and on the last day the patio heater was not working so eating in the courtyard was cold (there wasn't really anywhere else). Without these the experience would have been a straight 5* Would I go there again? Absolutely!

Hotel staff very friendly & helpful breakfast very nice room very clean hotel in good position very quiet. Unfortunately near the entrance there is someone sleeping rough would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in room, we didn’t get the room we booked & we paid double the normal rate for hotel to arrange taxis transfer from airport good, return journey was 15 mins late & he didn’t come inside hotel to collect us we had to go out to street, overall the good points didn’t really outweigh the negative expensive for what it is

Some key mistakes and discrepancies between what we booked on Expedia and what we actually received made this less than perfect. Could have been better. But some nice aspects.

Beautiful riad with wonderfully friendly staff. Abdel was great from the moment we booked our room and helped to arrange an airport pickup and dinner the evening we arrived, which was a welcome relief after traveling from Singapore to London and London to Marrakech within a 24-hour period. We stayed in the Syrius room, which was clean and spacious - a wonderful space to return to after exploring the city. Sunrises over the rooftop were chilly but worth it - the prayer calls and birdsong as light filters over the city must be witnessed at least once. Breakfast on the patio was plentiful, varied and always a relaxed affair. The rest of the communal area is also lovely and worth spending some time in. I managed to read a book from start to finish in one sitting! We had wanted to go to the Atlas Moyntains, but Abdel advised us against it due to poor weather forecasts. While this was obviously disappointing, I really appreciated his honesty, as we have been on some holidays were people would have been only too willing to take our money, regardless of whether conditions were suitable. Yassine was another incredibly helpful member of staff. He seemed to have a sixth sense and appeared whenever we had a question, but was otherwise unseen. Things that would make Riad Altair even more special: - Credit card payment availability - Daily mineral water - Gentle reminders for guests to respect other guests, by not being excessively loud

my partner wanted to get away for a few days we wanted to be able to relax and at the same time be able to do some sightseeing. We didn't know what to expect but we were not disappointed The hotel is situated in a residential area 15 minutes walk from the market. The hotel was clean and well kept. The service we received when we arrived was great we were givn a tour of the hotel facilities and an introduction to the local area. our room was also clean and tidy with towels and robes , extra pillows. The only thing I can say is that my partner is 6ft 3in and the bed was not suitable for his long legs also there was a thick 20 -100 tog duvet which was too hot maybe they could provide an extra light sheet. The chairs were not ideal for us either as they were stools so therefore the bed was our seating area uncomfortable no back support. The hotel is situated 2 minutes away from the mosque and therefore we heard the calling for prayer very clearly 7 times a day with the first call being at 5am all lasting 5 minutes :-( so ear plugs required there are enough shops and the market is close but please be careful when walking as you will be approached by hagglers just be careful and say no if you are not happy.

Always someone there to help with what you need. Yasin was a great help with our travel arrangements. He brings the best freshly baked croissants every morning, we left one morning at 7am and he had everything ready for us to have a full breakfast. We stayed in a room upstairs and it was perfect, very clean and comfortable, noise level was fine never had any noise around our room. Getting to the hotel might seem a bit scary if you arrive at night, but it was actually very safe and its one a quiet street. About a 10min walk to the medina. Has a lovely chimney for cold nights and a tv room with games and books.

Spent 3 nights at the Riad. It was such a beautiful setting, with all the comforts, perfectly situated to explore Marrakech. It was a nice place to wake up in and return to after a busy day in the hustle bustle and heat of the morrocan city. Staff were lovely, friendly and always eager to help. Breakfast was lovely, served with a smile, a great way to start the days adventures.
