I know this is very common throughout Indonesia, but I will always find it very annoyingly nerve-wracking because of the guttural sound that vibrates and resonates throughout one's body and mind: wood furniture and heavy bedframes being pushed and pulled on tile floors by both guests and cleaners. It's especially grating when you can tell a cleaner is cleaning a room above you, stomping on the heels of their bare feet, walking quickly, pulling and pushing the bedframe to make it up. Furniture sliders you can put on the bottom of the feet of bed legs and chair legs are very cheap and will save your guests from a lot of discomfort and annoyance. The most important part of a guest's stay is always uninterrupted and undisturbed sleep. Indonesian hotels don't seem to comprehend this. Also, there's no reason for workers to walk around with their walkie-talkies' volume turned to absolute max volume. Musty, nasty old towels underneath the sink to absorb leaks.
