This is the first time I have encountered a hotel that requires keeping the guest's ID card. The attitude when the guest checked in was very bad.

We are very sorry for the bad experience at our hotel. Could you please provide your reservation number and name?
Our hotel only copies the passport and ID card of the guests and does not keep them at the counter, except in the case of a girlfriend (or boyfriend) coming to the room to play, then we need to keep them to manage the guests' entry and exit times more closely, avoiding unfortunate incidents.
