My family stayed in for 4D3N and I would like to say that i had a less than pleasant check in process that lingers longer than it should..
Arrived at the dock from 4 days LOB, tired and look forward to a peaceful part of the holiday at the hotel. We arrived at the jetty with the party of 6.
However, I when I checked in, the consierge quickly pointed out that we are party of 6 (3 adults and 3 children), but only ordered 1 room, instead of asking 'how many will be staying?', he judged 'Maam, there are 6 person in your group and you only ordered 1 room', and I quickly inform 'Oh my brother and his son will not be staying here, so its only the 4 of us' (pointing out to our family, me, my husband and 2 little daughters. But then, he said again, 'Maam, as per the regulation, kids can stay with extra charge, with the facility of extra bed'. which confuses me, because its usually that children under 12yo stays free. In which we politely decline because we havent decided that we need an extra bed, our family still co-sleeps every night. What's more bothering is that he said 'Because its ur first stay with ayana, I will give you exception', in which rather weird because . So, unfortunately the conversation left a lingering unpleasant feeling of being judged and snobbed.
In many hotels we stayed, children until 12 yo stays free of charge. Extra bed should be upon request & not enforced.
Other than that, the location, facilities, cleanliness is as expected from a 5 star hotel. Housekeeping, lifeguard and jetty crew are friendly and helpful.
