We initially booked an apartment with this hotel and relied on our experience of staying in their hotels in the past to choose this staying here. That was a huge mistake. The hotel rooms are VERY different to the apartments on offer and I should have read the reviews on trip advisor before booking. We went through staying in 2 apartments within 2 nights of a 7 night stay before being allocated a hotel room for the remainder of our trip. The first apartment was extremely rundown with stained carpet throughout, broken and chief tiles in the bathroom and kitchen, filthy toilet, sinks and corroding taps and minimal kitchen facilities to use e.g. 1 giant pot to cook with, no kitchen towel, no washing up detergent, no cooking utensils. The second apartment had mice. The staff were very sympathetic to the situation and placed us in a hotel room for the night that was above the foyer and near the road so it was clan and user friendly but small and noisy. We were then given a much nicer room on the 7th floor and provided with breakfast and dinner. We Could not fault the staff, they were very supportive of us and the situation. If you are after a well positioned hotel room in London it’s a great option but until the apartments are refurbished and that is planned for 2027 I advise travellers looking for apartment accommodation to try other options.

Great location with a Tube station almost across the street. Easy to get there from Paddington and Heathrow. Check in was fast and bell staff are helpful. The pre paid breakfast is worth getting. Lots of items available hot and cold every morning. My only comment is the room I got was very very small. Barely fit a double bed and the bath and shower were claustrophobically cramped. You literally could barely turn around in shower. Even though I liked everything else about this hotel the room size is just too small.

The AC was not what we are used to in the USA, but the weather was cold (in May), so it was not a great issue for us. It is a great location for bus & tube transport.

The apartment was very small with the double bed pushed up against the wall. The shower was tiny with a shower curtain. All in all in need of updating. The price was good and we enjoyed the location

The kit hen was not fully equipped for cooking or washing dishes.

Entrance, bar, restaurant and gym all impressive. However, it was then rapidly downhill. I was staying in one of the apartments. Very, very tired. And crucially, filthy. I moved bed to see if there was a plug near bed (there wasn’t - bizarrely) and discovered what I assume to be months of dirt and mess. Geral decor and condition was poor - this room has not been decorated for at least 20 years. Fire alarm went off about 1am and whole hotel came to ground floor. There was no organisation and communication. Eventually someone communicated that it was a faulty system issue - apparently the same thing had happened a couple of nights previously. I saw at least one person check out immediately - by this time about 2am. I complained about my room - I was taken to a different room which had similarly poor decor but with gaps at edges of carpet exposing the metal spikes. I was then upgraded to a better room, which was bigger. But this room was also very tired - chipped tiles in bathroom and old carpets and furniture. It’s a shame as building itself is a lovely art deco building. But there has been no investment in rooms for a long time

Room was clean, they provided a nice bowl of fruit, water, milk and bread in the kitchen. The room is very very small. I would not call it an apartment. The breakfast was amazing. Definitely include that in your stay! Location was excellent.

I absolutely loved my stay here! The staff helped with my group and I’s luggage as soon as we got off the taxi and arrived. The room was comfortable and had everything as described. The staff also accommodated to requests we had and was very friendly. I will definitely come back.

Check in was a little troublesome. Took a while and room was not ready at the check in time. Gave us a drink voucher for their bar. When we went to use it, it was only good for beer or wine. (Not what we drink) Place is in a great location. Staff was friendly, but check in gets hectic. Room was perfect for what we needed. Easy to get to the tube and plenty of dining options in the area as well as hotel. Would stay there again.

The fact that cleaning was only provided on mondays and fridays was an unwelcome surprise. Also, the key had to be changed everyday as it was constantly not working and this was super annoying.

Drain of the shower tube was blocked. Unfixed for two days. Finally changed the room. Guest laundry was out of order.

Poor service

First, the picture used is not of an apartment so expectations must be lowered. At this price point, the accommodations are much smaller. That said, the 2 weeks spent were actually quite nice. The en-suite bathroom is updated. The en-suite kitchenette is closet-sized but adequate for storing and preparing simple meals (microwave, kettle, 2-burner stove, and sink along with a pot and pan and some basic dishes and utensils). Housekeeping is offered on Mondays and Fridays only. A bowl of fresh fruit, loaf of bread, bottle of mineral water, and some milk were thoughtful surprises. We chose this accommodation for its locale and proximity to University College London, Regents Park, and innumerable eateries as well as grocery stores. The only annoyance experienced was the need to get a new room card (over 5 times in 13 days) when they would suddenly stop working.

We stayed in this hotel in London for 7 nights. Our room was very tattered looking, and the carpet was stained and looked nothing like the apartments advertised on the Expedia booking site when I chose this hotel. Pictures of other apartments show updated decor and cleaner/more modern. With that said, staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was located between a few tube stops that were less than a 10 minute walk, which made it convenient to get around. Laundry was tricky because there was one working washing machine for the entire hotel. The second one was out of service. Housekeeping doesn’t check the rooms because we found a dirty pair of underwear under the bed - it was not ours. A few items to get started would have been nice, like some dish soap and a roll of paper towels. Overall our stay was fine, but would have expected better room quality for what we paid and how far we travelled.

Melia white house hotel is in a delapitated state and not all rooms are the same quality. The lobby is fine but the rooms have dirty carpets, dated bathrooms and blocked up with all kinds of doors. The best part of this hotel was the proximity to the tube.
