It was great stop over hotel.

Amazing service and scenery!

This was a gem of a spot! Loved the cozy bed, the view and off the beaten path location, and the delicious onsite restaurant that included free breakfast!

So incredibly comfortable and peaceful. Beautiful view. They thought of every possible comfort in the room including heated floors, our own water heater. They started breakfast early for us because we had a morning tour. We even forgot drinks in the frig, went back in the afternoon and they saved them for us. Incredible customer service.

We loved our stay at the Magma Hotel. It was serene and made us feel like we were truly experiencing the calm of Iceland. The cabins are a good size with stunning views, the beds were super comfy, and they provide binoculars which we loved since there were so many unique birds in the pond we overlooked! The staff was very welcoming and helpful which was reassuring since the location is decently far from a city/town (Kirkjubaejarklaustur has a small grocery store but the hours are a bit limited and it's the only town for miles). Having breakfast included is a luxury and was very convenient before starting our long days of exploring. There were a lot of different options. The location is also convenient as it allows you to be an hour closer to Vatnajokull National Park than Vik. We would definitely stay here again!

This cottage exceeded our expectations! It was spacious, clean and renovated. We loved the view and patio off the back and the breakfast was delightful

Very nice and clean place. The included breakfast was excellent—fresh and delicious every day. I understand that AC may not be necessary in the rooms, but they should at least provide a fan. We left the window slightly open, but it wasn't enough—I was sweating at night. The blankets they provide are also quite warm. The view from my room was incredibly beautiful. I would recommend Magma Hotel to any friends or family visiting Iceland.

Property was beautiful and rooms were spacious. Overlooking the lake-was very peaceful and calming. Staff were wo derful and very accomodating. Dinner and breakfast was very good.

Loved this hotel. So.unique to stay in your own small cabin. Food at the hotel restaurant is wonderful. Definitely recommend.

What an amazing experience… this was our wild card and turned out to be the best of them all. The rooms are mind blowing in the lake. The bistro was wonderful. The staff could not do enough for us. We will definitely be back!

What an amazing location, and a fantastic little private cabin as part of the hotel. the pictures tell the story and it is breathtaking!

Wouldn’t recommend!! At the price you are paying, you should receive enough hot water for 2 people to shower- we had hot water for maybe one 10 minute shower- therefore I was not able to shower- not worth the price for failed basic amenities

small problem in the cabin we had for a night. the lock of the washroom is damaged and not working. other than that, all is perfect.

Great small individual units. Heated floors were such a welcomed feature in the winter. We saw the northern lights the two nights we were there. Would definitely return.

great location and cosy individual cabin rooms, great dinner in interesting dining room nearby. good food and friendly people but set up made for great privacy and view was wonderful. got to stay in wonderful snowstorm.
