I had a great stay at Hotel Dyrholaey. The room was very big and had lots of space, and was clean and comfortable. It was also nice to have free breakfast included.

A warm welcome on arrival by the staff members. Room was very clean and spacious, had everything we needed. Parking has plenty of room to chose from. Breakfast was by far Top 3 out of all the hotels we stayed in on our 12 day trip. From fruits, yoghurt, cereal, tea , coffee and all the hot food and pastries you could ask for. Wwww plus cheese and ham, they're always my favourite Location was brilliant for a pit stop on our ring road , road trip. Would definitely stay here. (Visited April, '26)

What an amazing view from the front of the hotel! Our north-facing room also had a great view. We stayed here in April 2026 on a cloudy and somewhat rainy day. The building is long with a lot of rooms. There is a restaurant, but we opted to drive to Vic for dinner. The breakfast was great. Wifi was a bit spotty but worked overall. Our room was a good size. There were no outlets next to the sides of the bed (plenty in the room though), and there were lights positioned right over the pillows, a real ouchie if you forget. The walls are a bit thin, but our white noise app helped with that. Overall, a great stay outside of the town of Vik.

The rooms were clean and spacious, with wonderful views of the northern lights! Breakfast was plentiful, hot and delicious. Its neatly located just outside of Vik (a quick 10 min drive) so there's is options for dinner, drinks and tours of the surrounding area.

Good size rooms and bathrooms. Nice location but you’re probably checking in later and leaving early. Seems like everything else is a bit on a budget. Cheap tissues and breakfast, etc and not for the cheapest price.

Ok so before I booked I saw many people write reviews about how there are tours and buses that make a lot of noise, and that scared me a little, but I ended up booking and it was amazing. We got to see the northern lights mid April from right outside the hotel!!! The staff were really nice and always available. U can check in late at night. Honestly for the location, even though it was cheap,it was the bes choice I made to stay there! We used the workout gym which was surprisingly very well equipped. Overall, it was a 10/10!

A very large property that overlooks the southern coast. Stunning views of the coast and of Dryholaey. Plenty of parking available. We stayed here two different times over the course of our trip. Check in was smooth both times! The staff were excellent in providing us info regarding wifi, breakfast times, etc. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast here was excellent, probably the best spread of items I've ever seen. Fruits, breads, deli meats, cheeses, veggies, and much more to name! I'd recommend this place to all my friends and family.

Pros: Easy parking, clean room, friendly staff, good breakfast, and decent wifi. Breakfast buffet menu: scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, bread, jam, coffee, pastries, yogurt, oatmeal, cheese/deli meats, fruit, etc. Black sand beaches nearby that were beautiful. Minor Cons: Nothing nearby so plan ahead for food/gas. No small fridge or microwave. It was roughly $64+ USD for a basic dinner buffet. The drain in the shower was clogged and the shelf in the bathroom was not mounted properly so I could not put anything on it or it would fall off. This was perfect for my stay!

A beautiful and convenient final stop before heading back toward Reykjavík. This was one of the larger hotels we stayed in, but it still felt clean, welcoming, and well-managed. The front desk staff were kind and accommodating, offering coffee/tea while we waited and checking on our room status. Our room was clean and comfortable with spectacular views of the mountains and ocean. While slightly more dated (particularly the carpeting), it was still a pleasant stay overall. This was the night we finally experienced the Aurora Borealis—an unforgettable ending to the trip. While faint to the naked eye, they appeared beautifully through phone photos, and we could still see wispy, ribbon-like formations in the sky.The hotel is also well-located—about 2.5 hours from Reykjavík and close to Vik. We explored the town, dined at The Soup Company, and my family enjoyed the Icelandic Lava Show, which they said was incredibly informative. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety and unbeatable views. A scenic, relaxing, and fitting end to an incredible trip.
