I liked the price compared to other

The common areas were shared but we could always find space in the kitchen. The bathrooms and shower were clean and people were respectful of the shared spaces. Everything was cleaned daily and well stocked of common goods.

it's an old-world hotel (bathroom down the hall) that has somehow preserved some of its charm. I've stayed many times over the years and always found it and the nearby area safe.

Good experience

Basic accomodation with shared shower room and toilets. Sometimes people would shower for 30 min. Kitchen was great and beautiful view from shared dining table. Good central location and value for money. Several stairs so don’t come with a lot of luggage.

Nothing to say about this place

First, read the fine print. The parking structure they suggest is well over a mile from the hotel. I have two replaced hips. I was really pissed about that. And we saw many parking structures much closer to the hotel. Know that you will not have.a toilet in your room, nor will you have a shower. Read the fine print. Otherwise, it was fine. Clean enough.

Property was located next to a lot of restaurants. Very unique property. Dislikes kitchen on 1st floor, I was on 3 floor.

It’s was a cool stay close by the china town

1st stay 10 yrs ago. Still very clean, charming & quaint! Super happy to see the Hayes Valley area has continued to blossom & thrive into a 'hot destination area'!!! Housekeeping took care of our immediate needs and accomodated us with attentive care regarding check in/out as we do not have a cell phone!

Rented the room for a friend. Staff was very nice, helpful. Room was clean.

Good location. Unloading was a tough experience and you’ll have to walk up stairs to get to your room but the rooms are clean as well as the community bath and water closet. The bed was super comfy. I’d definitely recommend it for the price.

The place is super quaint and very cozy and clean. I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay here again.

I was a bit nervous about the shared bathroom, but it was a non-issue. Property is old but well maintained and clean. Lots of local options for food and drink. Van Ness Muni (subway) stop was an easy 3 - 4 block walk away. Area around Van Ness was sketchy with homeless... I felt OK but I'm a 6ft male. Area right around property seemed like a nice, inter-city neighborhood. Didn't see any A/C, so might be hot in summer. I'd book here again!

Very well-kept hotel in a convenient Hayes Valley location. Lack of an elevator may be a challenge for older or disabled persons.
