I arrived around 2:45 PM, but the receptionist told me the room wasn't ready at check-in (the receptionist had a rather sullen expression, maybe that's just how she is). Finally, when I left, I was informed that the room would be ready around 3:42 PM.
At breakfast, I had to queue to get in, even though I was hungry after CFD and wanted to eat right away. I lined up from 8:20 AM to get a table around 9:00 AM, a wait of about 40 minutes. Luckily, breakfast was extended until 10:45 AM.
Refilling of empty food took quite a while, even though it's a 5-star hotel, the service was slow.
The food tasted average, not quite like a 5-star hotel. The food variety wasn't great (sorry, it's like a 3-star hotel). I've also stayed at the hotel next door, and the food was delicious and varied.
Even though I booked less than 24 hours in advance, I WhatsApped the hotel to ask for a compliment because it was my husband's birthday. I was given a greeting mirror, cake-like towels, and a cake.
Around 7:00 PM, housekeeping came to my room to ask if there were any shortcomings. I asked for four bottles of mineral water and two towels (whether as an apology for the late check-in or simply because that's the standard operating procedure).
Because of the late check-in, we were also given a late check-out until 3:00 PM.
The swimming pool is open until 9:00 PM, and the lifeguards are on standby—not just on standby, but actually supervising the swimmers (really responsible lifeguards).
But overall, the service was good. The staff were friendly, from the security guard at the front check-in, but I was a little uncomfortable with the lady at reception. The breakfast staff were also friendly, always asking if there were any requests (the guy with the thick, center-parted hair, who, sorry, has slightly slanted eyes).
As for suggestions, please improve the taste of the food and provide more variety, as this is a 5-star hotel located right in the heart of the capital, where guests aren't just anyone, as I see many expats visiting.
Also, please split up the breakfast restaurant during peak season to avoid crowding in one area, as some guests may be in a hurry.
Please also provide a designated person for the gym, as not everyone knows how to use the equipment.
