Slightly faded in places and the exterior is in dire need of a refurb but that's a hazard of being so wonderfully close to the sea. The views are spectacular, the staff are friendly and it's a cosy place for a couple of nights exploring this gorgeous corner of coastal Suffolk. The breakfast was delicious (apart from the coffee, which was weak and nasty. Why do hotels so often get coffee so wrong, it should be easy with a cafetiere). I had the full (and vast) English one morning, eggs Benedict the next, both freshly cooked to order and really tasty. The toast could have tried harder but with a breakfast that filling you don't need to worry too much about the toast. Curious unpredictability about timings though. The first morning, when we were on a schedule, breakfast was very slow. Happy to wait for food cooked to order, but less happy to wait the best part of 15 minutes to order it, especially after telling a passing member of staff that we were ready to order. The next morning, when we had time to linger, our order was taken almost before we sat down. Adnams beer in the bar and a auper-friendly barman, retired but back to help out, happy to go on serving until late. The reception staff were also friendly and welcoming. Prices here are a bit high for the slightly faded feel of the place, but this is Aldeburgh and they can obviously fill the rooms. But the staff seem genuinely keen to make sure you enjoy your stay, and waking up to that sea view is very special indeed.

Wonderful staff. Lovely afternoon tea Bathroom condition needs update. Comfortable bed. Limited parking Breakfast a bit slow and also not as good as last time we stayed food cold and a bit overcooked.

I found the staff to be accommodating. Our room and bathroom clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast had lots of choices from continental to full English and vegetarian options. I enjoyed my time at the White Lion !

The spice food quality could have been better. Not best value for quality and value.

There are 2 restaurants on-site. We ate in the brasserie a d the food was delicious. The breakfast was included in the stay and was very tasty. The room was very clean and spacious. There are limited car parking onsite

A most disappointing stat Although the front facing staff were kind and accommodating, there seemed to be a disconnect between them and management. The shower was lovely But The pillows were very uncomfortable There was only tea in the room - no provision for coffee or anything else on either day Very few Power points! The cooked Breakfast was cold and there was not enough milk provided for cereal.

Super position on sea front with very easy access to high street shops.

Perfect location on the seafront, close to shops, pubs and excellent restaurants. Rooms were clean and staff were efficient. The exterior of the hotel could do with a spruce up but interior was fine. Would definitely come again.

Old hotel looking tired breakfast was mediocre and I would have expected a better breakfast considering the cost of the hotel

The White Lion is right on the sea front, the staff were excellent, the rooms were cleaned every day and your room extra's topped up. Good shower, comfortable bed, bar and restaurant was very nice too.
