When we arrived on Saturday evening the hotel restaurant was closed. When I phoned about room service there was none. The owner appeared and asked (angrily and repeatedly)
"what is room service".
These words appear on the list of facilities advertised for this hotel. They are widely understood to mean the provision of snacks, sandwiches or small food items delivered to your room. For a hotel owner to feign ignorance of their meaning when they appear in his advertising is not believable.
When we arrived there was no one on the front desk (as explained in the booking conditions). However the key was left on the reception desk with a scrap of paper carrying our name and room number. The room was on the 3rd floor beyond the reach of the lift..
We left on Sunday morning. To complete our "enjoyable" stay the credit card machine at the front desk trapped my card. The owner kindly removed it with a heavy duty adjustable wrench.
