Great stay, just didn't love how it felt like some parts of the room weren't completely finished.

We liked the location, we liked the parking. The room with a king bed was on 2nd floor and had very little floor space to walk around. The bathroom was supertight, very little floor space between pedestal sink, toilet and shower stall. We also had very noisy neighbors above us. On-facility restaurant and beach were great conveniences.

Nice room

Our room was clean and charming, albeit small. We were disappointed that our room wasn't serviced. Despite our best attempts, we tracked sand into the room and, given how small it is we had difficulty not tracking it into the bed and bathroom. We expected better housekeeping service from this hotel.

Would stay here at the Block Island beach house without hesitation again

Love this hotel. Have always stayed here. Disappointed in the exterior maintenance. Such a beautiful old place...seemed neglected and tired.

Amazing!

Nice unique place.

The staff checking us in were friendly and upgraded us to a room with an ocean view. When we discovered the AC didn't work in our room, they responded immediately and moved us to the room next door - still with an ocean view and a lovely room. The rooms are small but efficient with dresser space and plenty of electric outlets. The bathrooms are spacious and lovely. The hotel has been nicely renovated still retaining the original flavor of the building. It is located on the beach and also in town near restaurants and shops. Housekeeping staff were also friendly and helpful.

The room was so small you couldn’t open the door without hitting the night stand. There were rats outside in the lounging/eating space. Also, the walls were so thin we could hear everything in the neighboring rooms and hallways. It wasn’t a TERRIBLE stay but the experience definitely did not match the price point of the hotel.

No elevator and no one to carry heavy suitcase up steep stairs, pull shade was broken in room, loud party right outside room til almost midnight. AC didn’t work in either of our rooms. Reception area had old ripped couches, one was stained. Bathroom was updated at least!!

This hotel is in a perfect location from the ferry landing, the beach, shops and nearby restaurants. We loved our stay.

Loved the Gables

Employees were very helpful. One suggestion i have is to provide a microwave at the coffee station or in the cafe. Also the pool was too hot. It felt like a hot tub , so it was not comfortable to actually swim. A good temperature would be 84-88 degrees F. We were in room 126. The bed was tilted so that the head end was lower than the foot end. This was uncomfortable. It looked like they tried to fix the problem with books under the bed posts, but it still is not enough. It would also be really helpful to have a small shelf or table on the door side of the bed and more hooks. Overall, it was a very nice place.

We were upgraded to a cottage, which was lovely. The young staff were friendly and competent and the location was great.

Place was nice in off season. Room was small. Bathroom was roomy nice shower. Beach front view was nice except for the big pipe vent in view. Staff was friendly has no access to ice and water as stated in amenities. Would not stay here again.

Great stay with amazing staff! Had a wardrobe emergency moments before our taxi was coming to take us to a wedding and one of the staff went out of her way to locate some safety pins that saved the day! Everyone we interacted with was so nice and helpful. The location of the hotel also can’t be beat.

We booked the perfect hotel for our first trip to Block Island! We highly recommend this hotel the location can’t be beat.
