Booked last-minute as an overnight stop off. Really nice, comfortable hotel, with good food and really helpful service from the staff. Good value for money for the standard of the hotel and the location. I would stay here again.

The hotel is located within some outstanding scenery with Loch Alvie literally on your doorstep. We were all made to feel welcome, including Dizzy the dog , and the chefs produced some delicious food as we sat near a blazing log fire. Room and bathroom were very clean and well appointed. The only grumble we would have is that we were charged for our dog's stay on a nightly basis, to cover additional cleaning, as opposed to per visit, you would only clean the room once even after 2 nights stay.

Service was great, area was cozy, loved the fireplace.

Lovely hotel first class staff, first class food and plenty of areas to relax. We were made to feel welcome and had a very relaxed 2 days at the hotel.

Nice staff and convenient location. Nice breakfast. Appreciated the fires downstairs in the bar and nook, though the lounge itself was like someone's front room and unused. Comfy beds and decent bathroom. Our main complaint was the doors were freshly painted and the window hadnt been opened so we were breathing in toxic fumes all night - had to sleep with the window open. Did attempt to find someone at 1am but no night manager number on front desk. Restaurant was getting very hot so heating turned off, but this included our rooms! Electric heater was provided on request. Staff seemed to have accidentally set the fire alarm off at midnight (maybe it was the heat downstairs) but they responded quickly which is good to know. Would probably stay again, maybe on an upper floor bigger room though.

A brilliant, friendly, comfy stay with superb restaurant.

Had a great stay in this charming property, it was full of character, warm and cosy. The bed was very comfortable with a fab view across the lake. Bathroom was modern and the shower powerful. Breakfast was gorgeous, the porridge with cream was delicious. I was so full that I took my french toast with bacon away in a tupperware box and had it for lunch. Wish we had been staying longer, would definitely return.

The best of the best! The staff went above and beyond. The food was amazing. Cozy and welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend to everyone looking to stay in the area. I hope to return.

Owners and staff were welcoming and friendly. Dinner was fantastic, will definitely dine and stay again.

The service at breakfast was slow. The evening menu was excellent but the table presentation was to a low standard similar to a cheaper 'bistro' type of venue. (cutlery not set out, no table decorations for example). There was no room service provided, unless requested (in the manner of COVID times). As we were only staying for 2 nights this was not of consequence.

Had an excellent stay here. Conveniently located for our trip to the Cairngorms.

Very comfortable and a friendly. Great selection of beers and gin in the bar. Dinner in the restaurant was amazing. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent place to stay. Staff were great. Nice walk to Loch too. Safe off road parking for motorcycle.

Good and not so good. A little bit pricy for dinner and breakfast service was a let down but bed was very comfortable and clean.

Super clean. Staff friendly & helpfull. Lots to eat at breakfast. Nice location. We enjoyed our stay. Issues: Breakfast orange juice was actually orange squash. Management reluctant to put heating on but did after several clients complained of being frozen. Building trembles everytime a train passes by.

Lovely lady checked me in and was very accommodating with my request. Food was lovely

We found the room very small, inadequate for 2 peope, 1 chair for us. Very little storage space. Food was average in quality, small portions, limited choice and expensive. eg special at £22.00 for sea bass, which had soft skin not crispy with a small tin of lentils. Young staff serving with little personality.

Great stay at the Rowan Tree Country Hotel. Staff really friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and facitilies provided were good. Didn't have dinner here but the breakfast was thoroughly enjoyable. Woukd definitely stay again if visiting Aviemore.
