The stay was generally an awesome experience but how the staff handled the room deposit was absolutely horrid. Still is! To recap, we booked and paid for 2 rooms for a group of 4 people for a 2-night stay in early December. On the day of check-in, one of us paid an advance deposit of 5mil VND for both rooms (for potential damage or whatever) which is truthfully very standard across upper scale hotels. What is not standard, however, is how they handled the deposit post-checkout. After checkout, there was no deposit returned. So we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait for couple weeks before lodging a complaint. 10 days post-checkout, we decided to send them a gentle reminder about this incident when we found out they COMPLETELY FORGOT about returning the deposit. How in the world could you possibly forget to void the checkout? Don’t you have a system to automatically do that for you as soon as the room is cleared? We waited 10 days to contact them. And ever since we did, it’s been another 10 days of underwhelming level of transparency, improper communication, and just sheer incompetence. And no, we haven’t received the deposit. My advice is, pay the deposit in cash, and hope to God they will return it upon your checkout.
