I have been wanting to stay at this property for years and it was such a disappointment, they offer no hospitality and no amenities, will never stay here again, especially for the price!!!

No AC no wifi they gave my room to another reservation and it’s right by the road so you hear the car and motorcycles all night! Ughhh I would pick a nicer newer place for the price they charged

The room had a drain smell, toilet was dirty, electrical outlets didn’t work. Not worth $288 dollars a night. It said it was under new management but didn’t feel comfortable at all.

The main entrance is not easy to spot. The young ladies at the front desk were totally nice and adorable (I didn’t get their names) but I was disappointed with the room. Now don’t get me wrong. Upon entering the room is picture perfect. Two beautifully made beds, attractive bathroom and a gorgeous ceiling. However, I was disappointed that while showering, the bathroom began to flood into the bedroom. Even after the cover of the drain was removed, it still continued to drain extremely slow. I was also disappointed that literally there were only two bath towels and no bathroom mat. I chose this hotel because it has an elevator which I thought was convenient for my elderly mother to use. Only to find out that’s it’s been three years and it’s still not in service. Total disappointment. It’s a beautiful property located right in front of a naturally gorgeous lake but it’s a shame that its still not worth the price.

Hotel is in a great location, on the Malecón. However, when I arrived the front desk attendant said I had to pay for the 3rd person in my party. That these rooms were for 2 ppl, and any additional ppl would be extra. Although, I had made the reservation for 3 ppl. I did not end up paying anything, he called someone offsite and then was came back and said it was fine. In room, no safe, no closet and no iron. Hotel, does not have a elevator. So be prepared to carry your luggage and suitcase up a couple flights of stairs. Our room was on the side of the street. So a ton of noise as constant cars are driving by!

The property is in a good location. Some of the staff were inexperienced and rude. The shower walls were filthy. The rooms were a good size. The bedspread had blood stains and when asked the staff to replaced it they tried but the one they brought it was dirty and they said they went to every room and could not find a clean one. We had to sleep without covers. So we will never go back neither recommend this property.

This hotel is not what i would consider boutique. The lighting is horrible in the room we stayed. The pool looks dirty, they had rotten fruit laying in the garden area. I kept seeing little black ants all around our room and even on the bed. I am disappointed all together.

At check-in we were asked for a security deposit which went on our credit card and has yet to be credited or cleared. On arrival a spiderweb was above bathroom vanity. It was cleaned but bugs that were in the web were left lying on the vanity. Dust on the window and shower ledges and the bulbs in a chandelier. Spider web/bugs on the main door curtain. We placed Do Not Disturb sign on the door, but returned to our room to find a housekeeper in our room. Doors and windows did not seal or latch properly not secure. There was a 1 inch gap between the double doors and a large gap in the bathroom window we had to plug to keep bugs out. Curtains did not block out the lights. Accent lights were positioned to show directly into our room. One bathroom sink drain stopper was missing and the other was stuck closed when we first arrived. Hand towel hook was missing and toilet paper holder continued to fall off the wall. Bath towels were coarse and scratchy. Only one print on a one wall. Screws and nails still in the walls where artwork had been hung. Can't believe they call this an ‘Art Hotel’. The one room that may have been used to display artwork was continuously occupied by the staff. Air conditioner remote failed and staff did not address this until the next day. No coffee maker! At $200/night! While in our room a gas pressure washer was used with fumes coming into our room. Pool water was stained green. Algae? I DO NOT recommend staying at Villa 1927.

We loved the hotel design but inside the rooms there is no commonsense design. No place to hang your clothes in all the rooms and no place to put your personal grooming items, like toothpaste, shaving items, etc. The rooms need some painting renovations and the music on the swimming pool was way too loud. Staff is great!

The stay was amazing!! It’s a small private boutique hotel right on the lake next to the market and restaurants. The staff was very attentive and there 24/7 in case anything were to come up. I definitely will come back.

The location is terrific. Could use more information on the website to explain access and parking. Had to run the water for 10 minutes to get hot. After hours access was difficult. No one answered the bell for a long time.

Nice view of the lake but the rooms are substandard and overpriced. There is no air conditioning and the was tons of mosquitoes in the room. I was scheduled to stay two nights but left after just one. Will not be going back.

Beutiful hotel right at the lake front. We were only there for one night, but we had nk issues what so ever. The hotel provided kayaks and bikes for their guests to use. The pool and lounging area was very nice. The hotel room itself was great, the beds were comfortable.

Fabulous view right on Lake Chapala. Service staff was outstanding. Basically had the pool to ourselves as our stay was during the week and in July which is the rainy season. The little rain there was occurred in the night while sleeping. The hotel was a mansion built for President Porfirio Diaz. Designed by Gustave Eiffel. A girder from the Eiffel tower is part of the hotel.
