Lovely friendly staff, good breakfast, comfy bed, the room was a bit drab, the facilities are tired and need upgrading. Great view.

I booked a superior twin room, chaotic arrival, staff unsure of what they were doing. Given a room, on entry it was a double not a twin. The recptionist organised the change whilst we sat in the lounge, another member of staff dumped duvets and bedsheets on the floor near us. Then a different memeber of staff a few minutes later, sweating, picked them up and almost blamed us for his inconvenience if having to change the room to the one we ordered. Walking to the room there was a large paint pot and roller in the hallway. The 'superior twin' was on the first floor just by the hallway, able to hear conversations outside, in the hallway and in other rooms, including snoring at night. One of the hand towels had faint red stains on, did not want to enquire further on that. The best thing about this hotel was the view, which you can stand outside and get for free.

We just wanted a good nights sleep and a shower. This place was friendly, clean and fitted our requirement at the time. It isnt luxurious, but offers good value.

Dated older hotel. Loo roll holder falling off walk, sink too small to fill the kettle. Shower is Luke warm rather than hot. Service was ok but didn’t eat or drink at the hotel. Pre book your parking

Nice location, very good views but not worth the money they are charging. The hotel needs some serious remodelling inside and out. Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there. Car park is awful and only really enough space for 5 cars as we were blocked in by 3 extra cars when we were trying to leave, not great if you're in a rush at all. Wouldn't stay here again. Staff were great however can't complain about them.

Lovely position, great view from our bedroom! The rooms desperately need an update! But still, you can't make the walls thicker! Could hear every word that was spoken in the next room, and above!! The staff were sooooo friendly and helpful. Don't think it was worth what we paid! No Guiness, only zero? Parking was rubbish too! Extra costs, just wrong when you're paying that amount of money, for a room for less than 24 hours!!!

Along with many other guests, the views if you choose a sea view room are quite stunning, but we don't go to stay in a hotel to stare out the window do we. I checked the reviews from all sites before providing my own and it is purely based on experience without being influenced by others. It is a shame that there is a theme running through the reviews, because the building is in dire need of investment and perhaps this is why there is a little A4 note on the wall in the reception area pertaining to this. Rather bland in it's explanation but I think it's fair to say, that it's not being run by hoteliers of the year. My room had the bathroom ceiling wallpaper hanging off and is heavily stained with black, mould patches above the window too and poorly sealed around the bath. It is unsightly, but you just see, layer upon layer of "making good" as this decor is a make do measure. I get it would cost a small fortune to gut it and the time it would take, but the owners clearly have their reasons. I would be too embarrassed to work on reception. Perhaps this is why there's a "disconnect". No one gave me the WiFi info and nothing in the room alluded to it so I had to go down and enquire. Other than what I've mentioned, the main issue that affected me was the doors and floors. The doors leading to the rooms need planing and rehanging. The door to my room had to be shoulder nudged to open, but at least my yale lock didn't have a screw wedged in it, because it was obselete.

Enjoyed the stay at the hotel. Rooms were good although maybe a little tired, but comfortable. Good cooked breakfast to send us on our way. For the price, well worth the visit. I've stayed at much worse that cost a lot more!

All Staff were so welcoming and engaging with the guests. Lin on reception was particularly fabulous! Breakfast was a buffet style- cooked and continental- unlimited drinks- all freshly cooked and hot! Views from the dining room looked out over the bay! Nice and central to explore North Yorkshire! Comfortable room with good facilities, some areas are being redecorated which could be seen but didn’t affect our stay at all! Thank you

Very run down. Toilet not very nice with old and stained seat. Bay view but dirty windows. Staff ok but not overly friendly. Friday night but restaurant not open. Breakfast ok but overpriced for croissants that were undercooked and inedible. Wouldn’t stay again.

Room was disgusting. There was dirt everywhere... behind the side table, in the sink in the bathroom. There was public hairs on top of the bed. Get rid of the cleaning staff and get proper caring staff. For almost 100 pounds a night the room should have been better
